Castellanos gets a 1st pitch slider on the outside corner, waist high, breaks his bat, the flare falls in right-center for a leadoff single. 1st hit for the Phils.

actually cool hearing girardi calling the game against his old team as volpe Ks. I don’t mind him in the booth… I thought he was too arrogant as a manager. In his pressers he always sounded robotic. I have credit him for working on his new craft…

Stott fouls off a waist high FB, outer 3rd, 0-1 Takes a change well outside, 1-1 Bad slider waist high, inner 3rd, jams him, but he muscles a bloop over 2nd that lands for a single. Back to back soft hit singles for the Phils, and Gil is in trouble. Hays up.

Amazingly Richardson, who scored the winning run on Jeter's last hit at the Stadium is also from the Bahamas. Good one Chi. I didn't know that. Neither did I. I saw it on TV this weekend, there's only three players from the Bahamas who played in the major leagues. I don't know who the third was.

Takes a FB outside, 1-0 on Hayes. Takes a FB outer 3rd, below the waist, 1-1 Misses over a change diving inside, 2-1 FB outside near the top, fouled Slider on the corner up and in, spoiled Gets him to chase a bad slider going well outside above the knees for the K, 1 down.

Schwarber takes a change well outside near the top, 1-0 Another change that he got under and misses well outside and up, 2-0 Danger pitch here. Slider misses outside, waist high, 3-0 You have to risk the HR ball, because Schwarber has a lot of swing and miss, but doesn't chase.

FB outside is ball 4, bases loaded, 1 out for Turner, and if Gil can hold this to 1 run or even 2, he's doing well.

Cole, Rodon, and Gil turning things around is a must.

Good one Chi. I didn't know that. Neither did I. I saw it on TV this weekend, there's only three players from the Bahamas who played in the major leagues. I don't know who the third was. There are at least five with your addition Chi. Andre Rodgers was the first -- the baseball stadium in Nassau is named for him. I recall Tony Curry for the Phillies in the early 60s, and Ed Armbrister for the Reds in the 70s. Plus Richardson and Jazz. Who knows? Cricket is still more popular there.

Slider in the middle above the knees, fouled, 0-1 Bad slider outside and just below middle middle, but Turner doesn't quite square it, rolls it over to Chisholm, he gets the force at 2nd, but Torres double clutches, and Turner beats the relay at huge cost to the Yanks; not only does it score a run, but gets Harper to the plate with 2 outs and 2 on. Gleyber. Sigh.
