Sinker tails outside at the knees, the movement fools Volpe, he fouls it off the end of the bat.
Joe criticizing Volpe for chasing that pitch 3-4 inches outside, not realizing that Sanchez gets extreme movmment fools hitters.
Slider hits the low inside corner, Volpe swings over it for the K, 1 down.

If Volpe can lay off the 3-1, he wouldn't have to try to swing at the perfect 3-2 pitch.

Verdugo looks at 2 sinkers in the exact same spot. If he gets a sinker there a third time, he'll have no excuse not to do something with it.

Verdugo takes a sinker inside and low, 1-0
Takes a sinker inside near the bottom, 2-0
That sinker hits the outer 3rd, above the knees, 2-1
Takes a sinker a couple of inshees above the last one, taken, 2-2
Jams him with a change on the corner inside, bounced foul off 1st.
Sinker gets a piece of the corner away, not called, 15-20% on Gameday, so Verdugo gets a break on the call, 3-2
Sinker misses just down and in, Stubbs tries to pull it up, no sale, ball 4. Bases loaded, 1 out for LeMahieu.

DJ needed that.
Nice to steal some runs here. Our 6th hitter down are all sub 700 OPS. That's not pretty. Getting 4 runs out of this part of the lineup already? Take it and run. They might not reach base the rest of the game lol
