Volpe takes a 1st pitch cutter down and in, 1-0
FB just below middle, he's late and under, fouls it off. 96 on that FB.
Cutter near the corenr inside, but in the zone, thigh high, looping liner to left center, Loperfido plays it safe doesn't go for an improbable diving catch, plays it on the hop for a hit. Rice stops at 2nd with 1 out.
Jays will go to a different lefty for Verdugo and probably Soto.

Brendon Little, have an...OK>...season so far, in for the Rays, 4 HR in 25 innings, if it means much.
Neither Verdugo nor Soto have faced him before.

Sinker on the inside corner, waist high, taken, 2-1
Sinker hangs inside middle, but Verdugo tops a chopper over little, gloved by Jimenez to the right of 2nd, a swinging bunt, because with Volpe coming down, no time for the force, throws out Verdugo. 2nd and 3rd, 2 down for Soto.

Soto tries to pull a 1st pitch sinker, outer 3rd, rolls over to Schneider at 2nd, throws him out, inning. Yanks blow a good change to get close with 2 weak grounders back to back from Verdugo and Soto.
Top 7, 8-5 Jays.

Sinker down and in, Varsho is late and under, Chisholm has to run over quick toward the stands foul off 3rd, makes a weird catch, turning the glove under for a basket catch, 1 down.
It's going to take him a while to learn all the nuances of playing 3rd. Assuming he stays there next season.
Boone takes Hill out, goes to De Los Santos for his Yankees' debut. He'll face Clement and Schneider.

FB inside jams him a bit, rolls over to Chisholm, he bobbles briefly, recovers, takes his time to set and throw out Clement by a step. Good internal clock there.

Bad slider thigh high inside middle, goes with it inside out to the base of the wall, gets over Soto, plays the carom the throw to 2nd is not nearly in time, 1 out double.
