Splitter down and in near the corner, Volpe ready for it, lined into the corner in left, it's a double, Torres rounds 3rd badly, SLOWS DOWN TO HOLD THE HELMET ON HIS HEAD, and is thrown out by 10 feet.
That'sw ANOTHER baserunning mental error, the two costing the Yanks the tying run.
Gausman escapes the 2nd without paying, going top 3, 3-2 Jays.
14 pitches in the 2nd, 30 through two for Gausman.
Loperfido, Guerrero and Horwitz for the Jays in the 3rd.

Ready for Gleyber to move on... That becomes more feasible thanks to the Chisholm acquisition.. Loperfido... Takes a slurve on the outer 3rd, waist high, 0-1 Swings over a splitter going way low, just inside middle, swung over, 0-2 Splitter outside, ball 1 Curve hangs high, taken, 2-2 Cutter on the outside corner, fouled. Splitter at least a foot outside, Loperfido lunges, hits it off the end of the bat, and the flare falls in left for a leadoff hit, and Stroman is immediately in trouble again. |

Guerrero wastes no time, Gets a sinker waist high, outside corner, drives it into the corner in right, bounces to the wall, Soto gets on it quick enough to keep Loperfido from scoring on the double. 2nd and 3rd, nobody out for Horwitz.

If Stroman reaches 140 innings pitched this season, his 2026 contract becomes a player option at 18 million. The Yankees are already on the hook for 25. Stroman is at 115 innings right now.
