Volpe has his power stroke back. Pipps, I heard this song for the first time yesterday, and thought of you and desousa. I know now that it was a hit for Webb Pierce and covered by many others. Not sure how I missed it after all this time. |

Change at the top is taken 2-2
Slider misses just low, inner 3rd, 3-2

It is much more pleasurable than south Louisiana, where the humidity is in the 80s and 90s, so even 85 degrees feels insufferable. That humidity just sucks the life out of you, it's so draining. But, you never need moisturizer.  |

Gets under a slider up and in forcing Lopefido to duck and spin away, 2-2.
Might be running out of gas, losing location.

Emptying the tank, FB above and inside middle, foouled off.
Hanging slider above middle, Loperfido late and under, fouls it off.

FB up and in at 99 swung under for the K, 100th pitch of the day, and that's enough says Boone...but Rodon talks him out of it with the white-hot elite hitter, Guerrero, who hits him personally hard. Brave, but possibly foolish. We'll see.

The only thing I ever liked about Dan Rather were his election night similes, and your statement reminded me of his "this race is hotter than an El Paso parking lot at noon in mid- August." I have a black Nissan Sentra for my rental right now. I got in it to got to town yesterday and it was such a horrible environment until the AC got cranked up. I thought I had a blister when I grabbed the seat belt to hook it up. It’s parked in a speck of shade today. If not for a brace on my wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome I couldn’t have touched the steering wheel until I was already in town, 10 miles from here… When we lived in Saudi Arabia and the temps were routinely around 120 Fahrenheit in summer we typically wore oven mitts to be able to drive in the afternoon. Dry heat it was -- you didn't pee very much -- but still brutal. |

Change on the corner away, near the top, fouled, 1-1
FB inside above the knees, 2-1
FB misses inside at 98, Guerrero raises the arm, but doesn't even start, 3-1
FB in the zone down and in at 97, Guerrero with an enormous hack, fouls it straight back and high, just missed under it. 3-2
FB off the plate away at 100 mph (!), but it doesn't matter to an elite hitter, Guerrero just goes with it down the line in right for a hit, Judge digs it out near the side wall, gets it back in, but it's a double. Springer stops at 3rd with 1 down.
