Frozen food is a thousand times better today than it was in the 60s. Despite my fond memories, people wouldn't eat that stuff today. It was a novelty then, and then as now a teenaged boy would happily consume large quantities of garbage. Also back then you were dealing with 45 minutes in a conventional oven as opposed to a few minutes in the microwave. But when you don't know any better, it's all good. TV dinners eaten on TV trays... I think that's the only way I ever had them as a kid (or a bachelor.) When we lived in NYC there was a restaurant that served airline meals on a fold out tray in a simulated airplane seat. I don't think it lasted long.

That's the second time in this game Verdgo loaded down the first base line on a groundball in this game. I guess he didn't get the message Boone was sending last night. Spot on Chi. It seems as if Verdugo is sulking when things aren't going well. I can see why Cora had a problem with him. You have to stay positive on a team, especially when things are going poorly for you individually.

Jimenez takes a sinker inside, 1-0 Takes a sinker outside, 2-0, both pitches were not strikes, but were called strikes earlier, especially AGAINST the Yanks. All of a sudden, the zone is back to normal. Sinker inner 3rd, taken 2-1 Sinker at the knees, inner 3rd not called, and Hey Diaz? Why is the strike zone much smalller NOW. 50-50 on Gameday, 3-1 Sinker down and in, lined right center for a single, loading the bases with a 1 down.

Maybe I should start a restaurant where you sit in a recliner with a television and headphones. Groups could have an assortment of sofas and loveseats.

Barger up and he has real power.
Curve brushes the inside corner, and called a strike. Curve is well low, 1-1 Curve in the zone, low/away, foul tipped, and it hits the heel of the glove. Jays challenge for catcher's interference, but it doesn't look like the bat hit the mitt. Call stands, no CI< 1-2 on Barger.

Strong game for the Yankees. I think the best thing to happen to Wells in Trevino getting hurt.

Jazz is a really good athlete. That was not an easy play.

Jazz is a really good athlete. That was not an easy play. And for some reason DJ struggles with them.

I would have left Leiter in there.

Splitter bounced, 2-2 on Barger Hanging split near middle, pops it up to the mound. Leiter wants to catch, gives way to DJ, now at 1st, and Chisholm comes in late, calls, DJ stops, and Chisholm runs across the mound, catching it on the down slope in front of the runner on the 1st base side. 2 down. Infield fly anyway, but the runneres might have been able to move if that kicked away from everyone.
Holmes coming in for a minimal save situation with Springer up, bases loaded, 2 down and the tying run on deck.

Funny that many things, including dinner, focused on watching TV...

I guarantee somebody would go. Maybe not quite as odd, but I recall restaurants in both NYC and Philly that served regular old boxed cold cereal. I mean that's all they served, nothing else. Cereal bars. For all I know they're still around.
