Holmes doesn't even break a sweat!
"You've done it, Holmes!" ejaculated Watson.

Nice win after last night's debacle.
Rodon pitched well in this heat, Volpe stays hot and Judge is the best player in the planet.

Maybe I should start a restaurant where you sit in a recliner with a television and headphones. Groups could have an assortment of sofas and loveseats. I guarantee somebody would go. Maybe not quite as odd, but I recall restaurants in both NYC and Philly that served regular old boxed cold cereal. I mean that's all they served, nothing else. Cereal bars. For all I know they're still around. I can see a milk sommelier, offering a patron to smell the glass bottle cap before pouring it over the cereal. That's class.

Springer is 1-6 vs. Holmes with 2 K's.
Slider on the low outside corner, swung over 0-1 Slider well low, can't check in time, 0-2 Tries to back the slider to the inside corner and he hits it, and Diaz doesn't give him the call. Total BS zone from Diaz today, 50-50 on Gameday SMDH! Slider winds up well low, outer half, Springer swings over that one, too, for the 2nd K of the at bat.
Diaz did his best, but the Yanks beat the Jays, 8-3 anyway. Yanks even the series and the season's series at 6-6, winning their 6th in the last 7, getting back to 20 games over .500 at 66-46, and temporarily moving into 1st by 1/2 game over the O's, who have another game against the Guardians coming up in about 3 hours, the FOX SmoltzSuckFest, I think.

The old ESPN Zone in NYC had big screens and recliners. I went once when there was no prime time game on and sat and ate in them with a few friends.

OK, series finale is tomorrow, the usual slightly delayed Sunday matinee at 1:37 pm.
Big internation free agent signing Yariel Rodriguez goes for the Jays, He's 1-4 in 11 starts with a 4.20 ERA after the O's knocked him out in the 1st inning last time out. Before that, he'd pitched well in 4 starts. Yankee fans have some trepidation until Gerry "Lt. General Body Fatiguez" proves that he and his elbow are healthy. Luis Gil is still listed for the game in some places, but Cole said he's ready to go after a bullpen session Friday afternoon. Cole got hammered by the Mets for the 2nd time this season in his last start 10 days ago, and is 3-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 7 starts.
OK, game preview done, I'll check my notifications now.

With a 4-1 lead, I don't mind if he calls that zone the rest of the way, AS LONG AS HE CALLS IT FOR BOTH PITCHERS. I'm skeptical we can count on Laz Diaz being consistent. He's been bad for a long time. True enough. He was very consistent calling strikes outside on the Yankees' lefties, though, any where between letter high and thigh high.

I guess that's why you live in Arizona. Maybe among other reasons. I can't stand the heat, myself. I've lived all over the country, including Colorado and The Adirondacks with an annual snowfall of 60"+.... Cool. I've only lived in Brooklyn. Acton, MA, and now Marlboro, NJ.

I remember the one in Times Square. Sometimes Mike and Mike would broadcast from there. There was also one in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore -- in fact that was the first one -- and I know there was one at the New York New York Casino in Vegas. Thanks for bringing that up, I'd completely forgotten those.

Marlboro how about that. I'm right down rt 9 in Howell. Used to go to Howell about once ever week or two for lunch at the Boston Market. But it's closed, along with the entire chain, I think.
