Hey! I forgot the 3 stars...HM to the entire pen. No real high-leverage situations, but a solid 3 2/3 innings in relief of Rodon, except maybe Leiter, who got in big trouble but got lucky to get out of it on back to back at-em line drives. Not nearly as "dominant" as he was with the Cubs. Not yet, anyway. Volpe with a 2-run HR that made it 6-1 and a RBI single. Wells keeping his hot streak going with 2 more hits, a great at bat for a long walk, and an RBI, and doing this playing in the heat, a day game after a night game. Tough "kid".
3rd star of the game: Grisham for his 2-run HR in the 2nd, adding insurance runs, and giving his starting pitcher more room to work with. 2nd star of the game: Rodon, working hard in the heat, 100 pitches, throwing FBs at 97-8 consistently by the Jays lesser hitters. Minor deduction for talking Boone out of pulling him vs. Guerrero, who owns him. Like the toughness but not the judgment. 5-run lead in August and all, but I'd have pulled him, and he wound up lining a 100-mph FB for a double over 1st anyway. 3rd straight win for Rodon after getting punched around for 6 starts. Not a Quality Start, but a start of decent quality. 1st star of the game: Judge for oh...the usual great game. 2-run HR off Berrios in the 1st to give the Yanks the lead. Two walks, one leading to a run scored on Volpe's single in the 7th. Single in the 8th, setting up Wells for his RBI single in the 8th. Who says Judge can't DH?

Cool. I've only lived in Brooklyn. Acton, MA, and now Marlboro, NJ. I know Marlboro. I sometimes went by there on my way to Monmouth Park, one of my favorite race tracks. Yep, just a few miles south of me in Freehold.

I've lived all over the country, including Colorado and The Adirondacks with an annual snowfall of 60"+.... Cool. I've only lived in Brooklyn. Acton, MA, and now Marlboro, NJ. Born in The Bronx, grew up in the immediate area sandwiched around several years in the segregated South (Kentucky, Texas), then California, Colorado, Upstate NY (Adirondacks), Arizona...

High desert (Barstow/Victorville) winter temps 30 or lower...zero snow. Sometimes it's too cold to snow. Extreme high pressure in such sytems prevents it, if I remember right. Yes but no. I’ve seen snow in minus temps, but it is rare…

Who doesn't love a "White Christmas"?

just got home from the stowe jazz festival - an incredible event. was keeping tabs on the game.
looks like a solid start by rodon. i'm sure he's happy with the win but probably not happy having 2 runs added to his ledger. and holmes gets a big base loaded K!!
judge goes yard again - he's approaching barry bonds territory. volpe continues to rake post ASB. everyone's "favorite" yankee grisham goes yard. verdugo back to struggling.
orioles leading cleveland 3-2 top 6. go guardians.

O's up on Cleveland 3-2 in the 7th. 7-2 now, so it looks like the Yanks won't be picking up any ground.

I know Marlboro. I sometimes went by there on my way to Monmouth Park, one of my favorite race tracks. Yep, just a few miles south of me in Freehold. Monmouth Park is in Eatontown. They host the Haskel every year. They have regular horse racing. Freehold Racetrack is in Freehold and they do harness racing.

Glad you had a good time! The Yankees have their own Jazz festival. 🎷
