Walking anyone in a 4-1 game with no one on base is bad for the game. And, it makes little sense with two away. So many fans came to the game to watch Judge and the season he is having. John Schneider messing with the baseball gods. |

It's amazing Grisham generates so much power with that short, half swing. It’s quite amazing as well that he doesn’t find more holes and pile up hits with it… It's a very mechanical swing. Makes Brett Gardner look like Will Clark. |

FB misses outside above the waist by about 3 inches, called a strike anyway. You know how pitchers lose the zone, so has HP ump Laz Diaz.
Curve hangs high, outside middle, 2-1
FB at the top, inside middle, swung under, 2-2
FB above and inside middle, fouled
Change in the zone up and away, fouled
Gets under a FB up and away, misses way high 3-2
FB down the middle at 96, Jimnenz swings under it for the K.

Berroa takes a curve into the zone outside middle, 0-1
Chases a FB high, inner half, fouled
Takes his timeout
FB about 6 inches high, inside corner, 1-2
Slider dives low, just outside middle, Berroa starts but checks in time, 2-2
FB waist high, inside, inside outs a bloop off the right side, lands foul near the angle in short right, not high enough for Soto to get there.
Change bounced over home, 3-2
FB in the zone down and in, and Berroa somehow swing under that 96 FB for the K, 2 down.

Springer just misses one. Verdugo hauls it in just in front of the wall. Rodon with a 1-2-3 inning after the Yankees score. Just what we needed.

Springer...
Takes a curve into the zone at the top outside corner, another blown call. 90% or better on Gameday. That one is more forgivable, as the curve has extreme break, but still, another very bad call.
FB inside corner above the waist, and Springer just misses under, high fly to deep left gives Verdugo plenty of time and he goes back to the track, catches a step or two from the wall. Whew.
Inning over.
Bottom 3, 4-1 Yanks
17 pitch 1-2-3 for Rodon in the 3rd, 49 through 3.
Chisholm, Volpe and Rice for the Yanks in the 3rd.

Chisholm takes a 1st pitch strike, then swings over a good change going low on the outer 3rd, 0-2

Takes a curve just high, 2-2
Slurve inside corner, popped foul but not high, behind 1st near the tarp, but Guerrero can't get there, lands on the field foul.
Also broke his bat.
Sinker low near the corner away, 3-2
Slurve stays well outside, ball 4. Leadoff walk for Chisholm.

Chisholm goes on the 1st pitch, sinker below the waist, inner 3rd, hit hard to fairly deep right, but Berrro moves back to his left and catche near the track, Chishom has to scramble back, 1 down.
