Bonds would alienate everyone, with his recliner and separate changing area, staying at his own hotel, deciding when he will and won't talk to the NY media, requiring his own office in the stadium, and let's not forget his BALCO deliveries.

Due to the randomness of the sport, I would think 130-135 wins would be about the maximum any team could achieve. As far as the playoffs go, it’s still a crapshoot, but the odds would be better than a “normal” playoff, maybe a 1/4 chance vs. 1/16 or so… Funny that as important as pitchers are, we’ve only seen concern for the offense…

Similar to the ‘62 Mets, I believe. Again, randomness. We’d have to get Mitre and maybe Loaiza out of jail on their day to pitch and assume a lot of rotten vegetables would be thrown at them…

How about this lineup of stars: 1B Gehrig 2B Randolph SS Jeter 3B Nettles C Berra LF Mantle CF DiMaggio RF Ruth DH Judge It occurred to me that you could build a great second team, loaded with HOFers, without even using any of the above. I'll stipulate the player had to have a minimum of five years with the Yankees to qualify. 1B Don Mattingly 2B Joe Gordon SS Phil Rizzuto 3B Wade Boggs C Bill Dickey LF Charlie Keller CF Earle Combs RF Dave Winfield DH Reggie Jackson Seven HOFers and two (Mattingly and Keller) who should be. You could even make a strong third team, but I don't feel like putting it together just now.

Kaybli, that's a wretched team for sure, but Nick Johnson is definitely several cuts above those position players. He was an OBP demon, albeit a constantly injured one. I might swap out another Johnson, Russell, for him. The baseball player, not the guy who played The Professor on "Gilligan's Island."

Yea I guess I put Nick Johnson in there because of all the injuries. We could replace him with someone else who was always injured, good ole Jacoby Ellsbury.

The Yanks could have an impressive No Show team for sure. Johnson and Ellsbury of course and Butt Bruise Pavano. Stanton would have to be Captain Absentee. Severino and Montas. Cervelli. Lots more I'm sure.

Oh man that's hilarious Kaybli. And how did I leave off Greg Bird? He and Nick Johnson would be fighting it out for IL time at first base.
