OK...checking the out of town East scores...
O's lead the Guardians 9-5, bottom 8, Cleveland has a man on 2nd with 1 out.
Rays lead the Astros 1-0 top 9 in Houston. Rays have 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
Eovaldi ran into trouble in the 6th, left with 2 men on and nobody out down 3-2, but the reliever, someone I know nothing about named Pennington, gave up a 3 run HR to Abreu, his 2nd of the game, and the Sox have broken it open, up 6-2 top 7, 1 out, nobody on.
Yanks need to take this one or will likely lose a game to the entire division.
OK, with the game in delay, I'll be elsewhere for a bit. See you guys when it resumes.

Let's see. Red Hook Tavern was pretty good. Cafe Luxembourg was pretty good. I hear Le Bonne Soup is the best but I've never been there. Have to go. Just look at all that gooey gruyère!

Heavy rain for about another hour with a window of about 40-60 minute before rain resumes. How this game is finish will be interesting.

Yes, its traditionally made with beef broth. I'm sure you can find some places with a vegetarian version or you can make it yourself! |

Just got off the phone with my friend. Got a reservation for Saturday for La Bonne Soupe, best French Onion Soup in the city! Can't wait! Julie Child's has a great recipe for onion soup. I made it a few times for special occasions. It's a long process to caramelized onions. I haven't made it in years. Buy some beef bones to roast in oven to make beef broth. Slicing a bowl full of onions will make your eyes burn. I make more than enough to store soup in refrigerator. Ladle into crock with sliced crusty bread and gruyere cheese ( can be substituted with swiss). Deliciously decadent on a winter day. |

Game re-scheduled to start in about 7 minutes.
Meanwhile...
Rays beat the Astros, 1-0, another bullpen game win for Cash and the Rays, taking the series in Houston.
The O's wrapped up a 9-5 win in Cleveland, getting a split of that series.
The Red Sox finished off the Rangers, 7-2, winning that series.
So, if the Yanks can't finish off the Jays, they lose the series and the season's series to a team under .500, lose their tie for 1st, and lose a game to the entire division.
