Swings over a splitter to the knees in the middle, 0-2
Splitter out of the zone down and in ties up Guerrero a bit, his soft fly to center is an easy play for Grisham, 1 down.

Sinker tails inside, 2-0
Sinker into the zone up and in, taken, 2-1
Splitter dives in the zone low and away, swung over, big hack going to a knee, 2-2
Splitter dives inside, Springer spins out of the way, 3-2
Spltter with good two plane break stays in the zone down and in, but Springer swings over it for the K, 2 down.

Varsho is 1-2 vs. Leiter
Gets a Curve in the zone low in the middle, bounced foul off 1st.
Gets way under a splitter and Wells have to lunge to prevent a WP, 1-1
Splitter bounced over home, 2-1
Bad splitter winds up hanging below and inside middle, Varsho hits it hard but pulls if foul. Woooog.

Splitter dives inside, bounced, 3-2 on Varsho.
Curve yanked way down and in, bounces back to the screen, ball 4 and Loperfido gets to 3rd on the wild pitch. Yikes. He's all over the place, now.

Yanks will challenge that the curve for ball 4 actually hit Varsho, but it doesn't look like it did.

Kirk has been scheduled to face Leiter once, but was intentional walk.
YES shows a view where it appears the pitch did hit him, pant leg deflects slightly, so Loperfido must go back to 2nd, which might prevent a run on an error, WP or PB.
Blake out to talk to Leiter and the infield about pitching to Kirk, who makes contact.

luv onion soup but difficult to find it vegetarian. Yes, its traditionally made with beef broth. I'm sure you can find some places with a vegetarian version or you can make it yourself! yeah there was a place in town. i can buy vegi versions. haven't tried making it. i grow leeks so i make a killer potato leek soup. |

Beats him with a FB near middle middle, may have foul tipped it into the mitt, 0-2
Very sharp dropping splitter bounces over the outer 3rd, Kirk takes a big spoiling hack but misses clean for the K.
Best Leiter's splitter and stuff has looked in 4 games with the Yanks. I hope he's settling in now. They really need a reliable fireman for tough spots in the late innings.
Bottom 10, tied at 3. Volpe is the ghost runner, and the batters due in are Grisham, DJ and Torres, very likely not against Green. Anybody gets on, Soto gets a swing, unless a DP follows.

Bowden Francis, who was originally supposed to start today, comes in for the 19th. He's pitched in both the rotation and relief, but not very effectively so far.
