Big breaking curve makes Loperfido lock up a bit, winds up just below middle middle, taken, 0-1
Slider yanked way inside hits him, a foolish mistake with Guerrero on deck.
I might pitch around Vlad here. Cole won't.

Cole seemed to be settling down, now hits a batter to face Vlad Jr with a runner on base. But he gets him to fly out with a nice catch by Soto.

Whewwwww.
Throws the same curve he threw Loperfido on the 1st pitch, Vlad not locked up, hitting anything and everything right now, hits it toward the gap in right center, but it stays up long enough for Soto to get to it on the run for the 3rd out.
Cole escapes Vlad this time. 14 pitches for Cole in the 5th, 77 through 5.
Bottom 5, 2-0 Jays.
Lemahieu, then back to the top for Torres and Soto for the Yanks in their half of the 5th inning.

Takes a curve below middle, 1-1
Sinker in the zone down and in, fouled, 1-2
Hanging slider above and outside middle, hit well, but not nearly well enough. Varsho goes back a bit and catches, 1 down.

Yeah, it's Doyle, just double-checked at BRef.
Jays don't even let Rodriguez qualify for the W, takes him out of the game at 4 2/3 innings and 76 pitches. Well, his pitch counts and innings pitched have been low all the way along.
Lefty Brandon Little in to face Soto, at least.

Sinker almost backs up and hits Soto, he spins out of there, 1-1
Curve bends just outside, thigh high, 2-1
Swings over a curve going just low, outer 3rd, 2-2
Takes his timeout
Curve way outside, low/away, bounced almost.
