I couldn't stand Boggs, and slowly came to really embrace him (not literally, gossipers) after he came to NY. I hate him because he was a Red Sock and he got a free ride to the WS with the Yankees Boggs riding around on the back of the Police horse is one of the most disgusting images in Yankee history Boggs did have that clutch bases loaded walk in Game 4 of the World Series.

Roberts was at the end of a very nice 13 year career with the O's. .278 / .349 / .412 / .761 Robers is anothe guy whose career lives in the shadows of the steroid report. On December 17, 2007, Roberts released a statement in which he admitted to using steroids on a single occasion. "In 2003...I took one shot of steroids. I never used steroids, human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing drugs prior to or since that single incident. With a career .412 SLG I tend to believe him.

Yet you love the 'roid fueled Clemens... For torrorizing the Mets and basically clinching the WS vs the hated Mets !!! Hell Yeah !!!!!Great Moment in Sports History ! Piazza was also Roid Fueled although he was pretty meek when it came to Clemens In his 2013 autobiography, Piazza admitted using androstenedione, a muscle-building compound long banned by the International Olympic Committee and added to baseball's banned substances list in 2004.

I also understand why it must be regulated. If I were an elite athlete, I would consider it. With that said, I believe that every guy who got his name included in that report had shade thrown on his career.

Wow, Wade Boggs…I think I‘ve heard it all. And here I was thinking he was one of the most beloved Yankees that was part of those dynasty teams in the Mid-To-Late-1990’s. I’m guessing you dislike Johnny Damon too and hated it when he came here for the 06 season even though he was essential for the 09 championship??? As I mentioned I didn't like Boggs before he came to NY, nor did I like Damon pre-NY. However, I liked both after they came to the Yankees. I never liked, but rooted for Clemens in pinstripes.

I remember being so damn excited when we traded for him, but that was a guy that just could not handle the pressure of pitching in NY.

And it seems the disdain for those who have been accused of PED use, or have admitted to it, is often selective.

That might be the popular tendency, but since that crap was used in different doses and by players I’d different skill sets, there would likely be guys that used just to be good enough to squeeze themselves onto rosters to become backup players. From various comments from the “good guys” and the “bad guys”, it seems maybe 3/4 of the players at least dabbled with it. Imagine trying to hang on to that MLB paycheck when you know most of your peers were using. It would be very tempting…

That might be the popular tendency, but since that crap was used in different doses and by players I’d different skill sets, there would likely be guys that used just to be good enough to squeeze themselves onto rosters to become backup players. I don't know how the use of PEDs could make a player a better fielder or hitter. It's always been my understanding that it primarily increased power...hence the jump in HRs.

There was very little "fair" about the entire era and that includes how the media and fans reacted to different players.
