O's have won 7-3, so when this game ends, unless we see something like Divine Intervention, the Yanks and O's will be tied for 1st again, both at 69-47.

Very quiet 1-2-3 for the Yanks in the 8th, just 9 pitches, nothing hit hard. They waved the white flag, I guess.

Neto gets a sinker near middle, lined to left for a leadoff single. Verdugo does well to hold it to a single, but I don't think Neto was looking to stretch there.

Splitter dives outside knee high, chases it and barely fouls
Slider winds up low, ouer half, but goes afterit, grounds it to Volpe, who flips to Torres late for the force, and Torres is moving away from first, allowing Pillar to beat the relay. 2 down.

Chases a curve bounced over home for the K, Narvaez picks it up slowly, but it doesn't matter, Thaiss headed for the dugout to get his catching gear, so Narvaez gently tags him on the butt. Inning over.
Bottom 9, long days' journey into night is almost over.
