Stanton gets a small break, change clips the bottom of the zone, outer half, not called, 10-20% on Gameday, 1-0 Foul tips a FB at the top, inner 3rd, 1-1 Takes a FB inside, pushing him back, 2-1 Swings over a change going way low, outer half, 2-2 FB inside, pulled foul Change at the bottom, spoiled Dead fish drops way low/away Stanton takes, 3-2 FB on the inside corner above the waist, 92, Stanton beaten clean, K. 2 down. Typical Stanton. Very unproductive since return. Hope it does not take usual 3 weeks to get going. Or more. |

Takes a cutter low and away, 1-1
FB near middle, popped foul into or just over the Agnels dugout, 1-2
Cutter just above the last FB, fouled off. Soto missed two cookies in a row.
Change drops low and outside, 2-2
Cutter breaks across the top, fouled off.
Sinker hit to deep right center, Moniak races back, times his leap perfectly, and takes a HR off the padding at the top of the wall in front of the Yankees pen. 4th almmost a HR tonight for the Yanks. Ah, well.

Another dead fish on the inner 3rd, Stanton swings over it for the K, inning over.
Yanks go 1-2-3 again. Almost a HR by Soto, but they're not playing "almosts" tonight.

Beaten soundly by an unshaven, restless leg of a pitcher. Who came in with a high walk rate, but also very soft contact all over the place and the 7th best ERA in the league. Pillar, Rendon and Adell for the Angels in the 7th. |

I'm genuinely curious how De Los Santos was viewed as an upgrade. Looks like just another gas can. The Yankees have relievers in the minor leagues that would be better than De Los Santos but Cashman won't use them. |
