Pitching coach out to give Burke a breather before he pitches to Wells. Infield in.

Wells takes a slider that winds up above middle middle, 0-1 Slider to the outside corner above the waist, Wells fouls it off the left side, 0-2 Humps up to 99 again, just barely misses outside above the knees, taken 1-2. Gameday says maybe a 1% strike on that one, so maybe a break for Wells. Takes his timeout. Takes the FB low/away at 98. That one clearly not in the zone. 2-2 Big bending slider stays up, and Wells knocks it back up the middle, the drawn in infield leaves the Semien no chance to play it, two run single and the Yanks have broken it open for now, up 6-0!!!

If I could divide my age in half, I would give that 48 ounce steak a good go! Just cannot eat like I once did. This will sound odd, but the best French Onion soup I ever had was driving south, right outside of Six Flags Magic Mountain on the way to Los Angeles called "Hamburger Hamlet." Never would have thought about ordering it, but a friend of mine recommended it. I was happily surprised. Made a habit of stopping there whenever I was in the neighborhood. Some of the biggest hole in the wall restaurants have the best French Onion soup! The best French Onion soup I ever had was at some bar/restaurant in Manhattan sometime in the 1980's. I don't even remember the name of the place.

Torres takes his timeout late and Burke follows through and throws it back to the screen.
Slider misses barely outside up in the zone, ball 1 Change misses in the same spot, 2-0 Torres jammed by a FB going inside, late and under, pops to Garcia in short right, moving toward the line, 2 down.

Chisholm takes a FB on the corner inside, 0-1 Fires a FB well outside at 97, 1-1 FB well outside but closer, 2-1 FB misses just outside waist high, 3-1 FB in the zone below and outside middle, fouled. Sigh, 3-2 Takes his timeout. FB misses inside, same way as with Grisham, he jackknifes back for ball 4. 1st and 2nd, 2 down for Volpe, who must be quite happy Eovaldi is out of there as he seems to have no clue against him.

The original design had supports necessary to hold the retractable roof. Those supports were never put in. So the stadium, as it exists, cannot support a retractable roof. They'd have to uproot the stadium to do it. Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't want a roof on Yankee Stadium, I like it the way it looks right now but I don't have to put up with sitting in rain delays and I'm not losing gate revenue because a postponed game becomes a traditional double header. In my opinion, the design models of Yankee Stadium with a retractable roof that I saw online didn't take away the look from the stadium. Would love to see a Super Bowl played there some day.

Volpe takes a FB near the top in the middle, 0-1 Misses a FB above middle, 0-2 FB 98 on the inside corner, Volpe guesses breaking ball going inside, guesses wrong. Good morning, good afternoon and good night, K. Inning over. Yanks add 3, and lead 6-0, going top 5.
2-3-4 for the Rangers vs. Rodon in the 5th as he tries to make it through 5 to qualify for the W: Seager, Semien and Jung.

Volpe not seeing the ball well. Jumpy at bat. When he's at his best, his body and hands are quiet, not reacting or flinching to every pitch thrown.

I wish my brother was around. He made me the best French Onion Soup from scratch one year for my birthday.
