Judge takes a slider in the zone down and in, 0-1
Takes a slider low, below the middle, 1-1
Takes a sinker outside at the knees, 2-1
Completely fooled by a slider well outside, a rare Stantonian chase by Judge, 2-2
Great sequencing, got him chasing the bad slider well outside the pitch before, starts the FB outside, and it tails back to the outer 3rd, waist high, and Judge stares at it for the ꓘ, inning over.
Top 8, 7-0 Yanks, and Anderson is bailing out Bochy big-time, 2 2/3 innings and 41 pitches.
"3-4-5" for the Rangers, Duran, Jung and Taveras in the 8th.

Takes a slider that gets maybe 1-2% of the corner inside, called a strike, 0-1
FB misses well low and outside, 1-1
Change tails back to the low outside corner, taken, 1-2
Slider to the knees, foul.
Takes him timeout late, and Marinaccio completes the pitch in the zone, but no pitch.
Chases a slider well outside, thigh high, for the K. 1 down.

Jung takes a change low/away, ball 1
Fouls off a sweeper on the corner away, waist high, 1-1
Yanks a FB way outside at 95. 2-1
Swings over a good arm action change that wound up low on the outer half, 2-2
Takes his timeout.
Change tails inside 3-4 inches, Jung takes, 3-2
Change to the outside corner below the waist, served to center for a 1 out single.

Taveras...
Takes a FB way low, 1-0
Flies open, FB misses up and away, 2-0
Foul tips a FB in the middle, thigh high, 2-1
Takes a change in the same spot as the FB, 2-2
Change out of the zone low in the middle, riflied down to Rice at 1st, great pickup, wheels to 2nd for the force, but Taveras way too fast to turn two on, they get the force, 2 down.
When Rice has experience, he might learn to take the safe play at 1st with 1 out in the 8th up by 7, you're not getting two on a speedster like Taveras, even if you make a good throw, and if you make a bad one, it might open up a big inning, putting the Rangers back in the game.

Wells gets a FB thigh high, outside corner, fouls it, 0-1
Slider in the same spot as the FB, takes it for strike 2
FB wasted way up and away, 1-2
FB yanked well inside, 2-2
Slider in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, Wells tries to put it in the Porch, misses under, foul tips it into the mitt, K, 1 down.

Good to know. Let's hope he keeps it that way. Any postseason hopes ride on him, Gil and Cole. Torres takes a slider outside, 1-0 Slider on the corner away, taken, 1-1 FB backs over the outside corner waist high, taken, 1-2 Slider misses low and away, 2-2 Slider outside, Torres lunges and pops it foul over the Yankees dugout. Sinker inside, ties him up, pops to Smith at short. Forgot he's there and Seager is DHing. 2 down. |
