Jays-A's 0-0 in the 4th in Toronto Astros/Sox about to get underway at Fenway. O's Rays starts 3 hours or so from now in Tampa.
No need to give intermediate standings with no other final scores in, suffice it to say the Yanks are now tied with the O's again, 45 games to play.

Stars of the game...HM for Soto, another hit, 2 walks, 2 runs and a run. Usual excellence here, and to Marinaccio, who looked very shapr in soaking up 2 1/3 scoreless innings as the 27th man for the doubleheader, striking out 3 and giving up just 1 hit. Torres for the 2 out RBI single in the 1st, picking up Wells who drive to deep right didn't get out.
3rd star: The usual greatness from Judge...a double, 2 singles, a walk, 2 runs scored and a run driven in. 2nd star: Rodon, for battling through early in tough jams in the 2nd and 3rd, to get through 5 2/3 scoreless, throwing 110 pitches, his 4th good start and 4th win in a row, tying him for the major league lead with 13 wins. 1st star: Wells, for guiding Rodon along, and the big two run double in the 3rd and two run single in the 4th to break the game open, allowing Rodon more elbow room to pitch more easily in the 4th, 5th and 6th.

I won't do the pre-game preview until the game thread is posted. I have it ready to go, just need the new thread.
Gonna try to catch up with all my notification, then get the preview stuff up before the game.

You're missing the fact that the Rangers are starting a righty in the first game, and a lefty in the 2nd game. So the powers that be know that Stanton won't play both, giving the first game to Grisham against the righty and the second game to Statnon against Bradford, who's a lefty. This guy needs at bats. I guess he is now a platoon DH. If he is not going away we just need him healthy and in a groove come playoffs. That is all that is important. As mentioned by others, Grisham has been more than a cipher since June started, and Stanton probably shouldn't play both games. Still 45 games left to get him going.

Nice, dominant win there. Now let's not no-show the nightcap like last time, please?

Had to look it up, but Name That Yankee is Pudge Rodriguez. They should do Ed Figueroa, he deserves a shout out. Yeah, Figueroa is an odd one, Yanks desperately needed him to fill the rotation in the three pennant winners in the 70's, and he even won 20 one year, but he got crushed in the postseason in every game but one, if I remember right. He didn't help much to win the two rings, but they'd have never gotten to the postseason without him. I wrong a long post about this and about how teams need guys who kill bad teams to take the heat off the stars, so they don't have to do it every day.
