Do they give the announcers pronunciation guides. It's not Ha-mahr-i, it's Hammer-y.

Nate Lowe... FB just outside, ball 1. Slider misses 3-4 inches outside above the knees, taken, 2-0 FB in the zone low and away, taken, 2-1 Swings over a slider at the knees near the middle of the zone, 2-2 Hangs the slider above middle, but Lowe doesn't quite measure it, gets under, high fly to center is an easy play for Grisham, 2 down.

Garcia goes after a 1st pitch FB near the high outside corner, tries to go Porch with it, fouls it off. FB misses a foot high above the corner away at 96, 1-1 Throw over on Langford who's 10 for 13 stealing bases. Runner goes, FB outside middle middle, hit hard to the right of 2nd, but Gleyber caught on the wrong side leaning the wrong way setting up to catch the throw, and it goes into center for a single. Langford to 3rd with 2 down.

Grossman takes a FB high, inner half, 1-0 Takes a curve dropping into the top of the zone in the middle, 1-1 Good dead fish change well below the outer 3rd, swung over, 1-2 One more good pitch, Carlos... Spikes the change over home, Wells blocks it, gets away a few feet, but not enough for either runner to advance, 2-2 FB humped up to 97.7, misses inside by 4 inches, ball 3. Crowd groans at the call for no reason, 0% on Gameday and not close. FB inner 3rd, waist high, 99, fouled Much longer inning for Rodon here. Flies open a bit on the change finishing about a foot outside, ball 4. Four pitches after 1-2, couldn't finish him. Bases loaded, 2 down for catcher Heim. Blake to the mound to give Rodon a breather.

Verdugo takes charge and gets Rodon out of a big jam.

Heim gets a curve up in the zone, misses under it, pops it high into no-man's land in left center, Volpe goes way back, is called off late by Verdugo who has the angle, fights the sun and makes the catch on the run to kill the threat. Whew. Inning over.
Bottom 2, 1-0 Yanks. 25 pitches for Rodon in the 2nd, 38 through 2. 7-8-9 for the Yanks in the 2nd: Volpe, Rice and Grisham.

When 6 for 19 brings you up to .235, you probably should be looking for a different job. Yeah...it means he got off to a slow start. Since July 1... .263

Yeah, that's what you want from your leadoff guy after your starter has a tough long inning. Volpe goes after a first pitch FB at 93 below the waist, rolls over to Jung at 3rd, throws him out, 1 down.
