Narvaez... FB below middle at 94, fouled off. FB above middle, fouled off. You can't square up either of those, you're in big time trouble, Narvaez. Chases a curve bounced outside, strike 3. 2 down.

LeMahieu... FB at the top at 95, swung under, 0-1 FB misses outside,1-1 Curve way outside and low, 2-1 FB at the knees, 6 inches outside, taken, 3-1 FB barely on the corner inside, DJ turns on it, but it jams him enough that his sharp fliner to left is an easy play for Langford, backing up a couple of steps, inning over.

qwik, do you have Jackson Merrill on your fantasy team? Yes, I do. As I mentioned to another poster here, he was one of the guys Longerhagen at Fangraphs rated higher than other prospect writers. Not by a lot, but by a little, so when the Cards Masyn Winn was the first on just two guys I had left on my blue chip list, Merrill was the last one left and I took him with the 10th pick of the 1st round last year.

Semien gets a thigh high sinker in the middle, hit hard to the 56 hole, Volpe dives to his backhand on the OF grass to spear, gets up, throws from a knee, one hops to DJ, who makes a good scoop. 3-star play would be a 4-star play if the game were still close, 1 down.

Lowe... Takes a curve low, 1-0 Curve outside is called a strike anyway, 0% on Gameday, missed by an inch or two, 1-1 Sinker away, tapped toward short, Volpe comes around the backhand to scoop, looks at 2nd, throws to 1st, yanks it past DJ to the right field side, E-6 leaves runners at 1st and 3rd with 2 down for Garcia.

Garcia... Chases a curve low and outside, 0-1 Takes a splitter low in the middle, 1-1 Splitter dives from well in the zone to below the knees, swung over, 1-2 Splitter stays thigh high inside middle, but Garcia still can't square it up, foul tipped into the mitt for the K, inning over.
Bottom 8, 9-1 Rangers.

Travis Jankowski, Garcia's legs late in the 1st game, becomes Lankford's legs late in the nightcap, comes in to play left.
Verdugo, Soto and Judge for the Yanks in their half of the 8th. Garabito still in there for Texas.

Soto takes a FB above and just inside middle, 0-1 Change drifts outside, Soto checks, but the 3rd base ump says not in time. Side view says marginal, but it looks like he went. Curve ball drops waist high outer 3rd, and Soto pulls off it for the K, 2 down.

Judge takes a curve bounced outside and back to the screen, 1-0 FB yanked low and outside, 2-0 FB on the outside corner, waist high, fouled off the right side, 2-1 Curve backs up waist high, inside corner, Judge late and under that one, too, fouls it off. 2-2 FB misses outside about 3-4 inches above the waist, taken, 3-2 FB misses just as far outside but lower for ball 4. Judge walks with 2 down.

FB at the very top, outer half, not called, 25% on Gameday, Stanton gets a mild break, 1-0 Sinker runs 4-5 inches inside, taken, 2-0 FB in the zone down and in, and Stanton gets it down near the end of the bat, but golfs it out into the netting over Monument Park, 2 run HR makes the score more respectable, Yanks now down 9-3. Yay for him; he needed to get going and now he has.
