wtf was that whole last 3 innings.......... How are the Rangers an under .500 team? The Yanks pitching staff isn't that good and it starts with the starters. |

The relivers before Holmes gave up 5 runs. Not to mention Weaver blowing yesterday's game Yep, it's been a team effort.  |

taveras grounds out to gelyber who goes to his knees. yankees win. much too much drama but holmes gets it done. O's lose so yanks move back into to a tie as they reach the 70 win mark. Looked like Gleyber unnecessarily backhanded that. Lost the grounder in the sun, just for a second. No harm, no foul.  |

Yanks win, 9-8, and get back to 21 over with their 70th win against 49 losses, 43 games to go.
They also win the series, and complete the homestand as a minimal success, 5-4.
The O's lost to the Rays, and the Sox and Jays lost, so the Yanks move back into a flatfoot tie for 1st with the O's, 7 1/2 up on the Sox, 10 ahead of the Rays, and 15 1/2 up on the Jays.

Another series win, but oof marone, I don't have anything approaching a warm fuzzy, lol. The pitching is just so damn bad I can't get myself even remotely optimistic about October.

wow a nail biter. more excitement than i needed.
not sure who to go for for potg - the hitting star stanton or the pitching star stroman. will give it to both because they both needed a game like this. will give honorables to soto w 2 HRs and judge w a HR that turned out to the margin of victory and a perfect day. DJ seems like the old DJ and volpe now 0-23 w lots of Ks - the "old" volpe.
cousins a solid inning out. holmes gets the 4-out save on a riduculous 45 pitches. no shortage of drama but should never have gotten of gotten to that point as leiter allows 3 and kahnle through no fault of his own allows 2.
felt like an NBA game.

only Holmes can turn two outs and nobody on into a suspenseful situation He has to walk somebody with 2 outs every game. Stroman is bad for 2-out walks as well. |

Agita with Holmes on the mound....argh The relivers before Holmes gave up 5 runs. I walked away as Yankees was leading 8-3 only to return to see Holmes on the mound with a 1 run lead. So I was thinking what happened? What did Holmes do to squander a good lead. Only to check after your comments, I stand corrected.  |
