Lowe takes a splitter bounced over home, 1-0 Cutter on the corner inside, fouled, 1-1 Throw over on Langford. Splitter dives low and away, 2-1 Tries to hit the low inside corner with a splitter, but it stays inside, 3-1 Cutter above middle makes Lowe jam himself a bit, soft grounder to the left of 2nd, Volpe fields, and throws low, but it stays up for DJ, who bends to catch and complete the 6-6-3 DP to end the inning.
Bottom 4, 2-0 Yanks. 8 pitch inning for Stroman and 61 through 4. Torres, Chishom, Volpe for the Yanks. Let's hope they do better in the 4th than they did in the 2nd.

An umpire who gives the corners really makes Stroman's life better.

Why do they continue to jab at the ball while bunting?

Chisholm takes a FB on the outside corner, 0-1 Gets a FB above middle, tries to bunt, pops it foul well back of home, no chance for a catch. Takes a slider low/away, 1-2 Slider about 4-5 inches outside, 2-2 Jams him with a change inside, his soft pop is caught by Jung near the edge of the infield grass, 2 down.

Volpe misses a FB below and inside middle, missed a cookie, 0-1 Fb near the top outside middle, fouled off, 0-2 Slider down and in, Volpe starts, but the 1st base ump says he checked in time, 1-2 Back leg slider makes him skip rope, 2-2 FB fired outside above the waist, 3-2 FB on the high outside corner, Volpe spoils it foul off the right side. Comes back to the slider down and in, Volpe flails over it for the K. Off balance swing again there.
Top 5, 2-0 Yanks. 15 pitch 1-2-3 for Heaney, 68 through 4 innings.
7-8-9 for the Rangers in the 5th: Garcia, Taveras and Kelly.

Garcia takes a sinker 3 inches outside, called a strike anyway, not close, 0% on Gameday, bad call but a break for Stroman. Slider about as far outside, bounced foul off 3rd, 0-2 Good FB right near the corner up and away, but Garcia spoils. Splitter started way outside, no chance for a chase as it misses, 1-2 Slider about 4-5 inches outside at the knees, fouled off the nd of the bat. Garcia looks for the slider away, gets the curve instead, misses early and under, pops it down the left field line, Verdugo races over late and makes an excellent running catch in foul ground, bumping into the low wall near the angle.

Name that Yanks is Lee Mazzilli Remember those late 70's Mets that were so bad? Mazz was like the star of those teams.

Kelly takes a slurve outside, 1-0 Takes a slider low, 2-0 Fouls off a sinker in the zone down and in, 2-1 Fouls off a cutter above the knees on the outside corner, 2-2 Takes a slider low/away, 3-2 Sinker winds up in a bad spot, inner 3rd waist high, but the two plane movement was good, and it ties up Kelly, rolls over to Chisholm, throws him out, inning over. Stroman pitching far better than I thought he would, and much better than he was in the 1st two innings.
12 pitch 1-2-3, and 75 through 5 for Stroman. Bottom 5, 2-0 Yanks. LeMahieu, then back to the top for Verdugo and Soto for the Yanks in their half of the 5th inning.
