Name that Yanks is Lee Mazzilli Remember those late 70's Mets that were so bad? Mazz was like the star of those teams. The stupid Seaver trade was like knocking out the supports on that team. It was competitive as long as he was there.

DJ... Takes a FB well outside, waist high. Closer FB still misses outside, 2-0 FB well inside, taken, 3-0 FB just below middle middle taken, 3-1 He tries to call time, not givne. FB hits the outer 3rd for strike 2. FB at the top in the middle, DJ with a hard swing, drives it up the middle, almost takes Heaney's head off on its way into center for a leadoff single.

LeMahieu hits better when he's mad.

It's amazing more pitchers haven't been drilled in the head by comebackers over the years. That was scary for Heaney.

Verdugo takes a FB up in the zone, not quite down the middle, 0-1 Slider in the zone, down and in, lined to right center for a hit, DJ reads it immediately, turns and goes to 3rd without a play. Soto up with a chance to deliver the crusher, 1st and 3rd, nobody out. Mike Maddux goes out to try to gain enough time to get someone loose/try and settle Heaney enough to get out of the inning without the game getting out of hand.

LeMahieu hits better when he's mad. That was my thought, too. His swing on the single was positively vicious.

Soto... Goes after a first pitch change below and outside middle, tops it foul near home trying to pull it. 0-1 Takes a FB about 8 inches high, inner 3rd, 1-1 Another change thigh high down the middle, he's early and on top, bounces it foul off 1st. Soto takes his timeout. Infield is back. FB down and in, might have been a strike anyway, Soto spoils it. Comes sidearm with a slider low away, nubbed up the 3rd base line, no play, so Jung waits for it to go foul and it does, almost a cheap RBI single for Soto there.

Wow, Soto robbed of extra bases and an RBI.

Bad luck twice: swinging bunt goes foul and rocket for a double play that couldn't be helped.

Change stays well inside, Soto jackknifes back, 2-2. Heaney comes set, steps off. FB inside, lined hard but right to Lowe, and Chisholm is trapped for the double play, he dodges the immediate tag, but it doesn't matter, Lowe steps on 1st to complete the 3-3 DP. Very bad luck there for the Yanks. Any other line drive out is almost certainly not a DP there. Doggone it, that might've kept the Angels in the game, if it gets by Lowe it's a dounble for at least 1 run, and if they then walk Judge, it's bases loaded and 1 down for Stanton.
the IBB judge, and bring a righty to face Stanton.

Leclerc, who pitched very well in relief yesterday, in to face Stanton. Man on 3rd, 2 down.
