Sharp slider just outside, Langford chases and misses, 0-1 Slider again, lower and further outside, again chased, 0-2 Slider breaks across the zone winds up just outside, Wells frames it and gets the call, ꓘ, 2 down. A good break for the Yanks, missed by an inch or two on Gamday.

That was some absurd pitches Cousins threw to Lowe. And he strands an inherited runner!!!!

Lowe takes a sinker into the top of the zone, Lowe takes, but it's strike 1. Takes his timeout. Sinker starts inside, comes back to the corner, taken, 0-2 Swings over a slider down and in for the K, and Cousins works out of it! Rangers held to one run, and the Yanks lead 5-1, going bottom 6.
Cousins needed 13 pitches to work through 4 batters.
Torres, Chisholm and Volpe again. Let's hope they do better in the 6th than they did in the 2nd and 4th. (Also means Wells has ended all three innings he's batted in today.)

Jung must face his shadow after a missed scoop at first.

Matt Festa in for the Rangers. He's a good starting prospect, I think. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
Takes a FB on the corner low/away not called, 25-30% on Gameday, Torres got a break there. Sweeper inner 3rd, rolled over to Jung near 3rd, he throw is low and Lowe can't scoop it. Scored a hit for Torres on degree of difficulty.

Wow, that Stanton laser might have killed someone in the RF stands. I watched him take BP in Durham during a rehab assignment several years ago and sat above the left field wall (about 20 feet high). I can attest to the fact that those laser shots are very dangerous.
