Greetings, teammates. Checking in a little late. 34 pitches for Gil in the first? Cripes, probably into the pen early again. That ain't good. Especially with Nestor tomorrow and mystery AAA pitcher on Wednesday. |

Takes a slider near middle, 0-2
Takes a slider way outside, 1-2
Same slider as the 0-1, fouled
Slider at the top, outer 3rd, fouled
40th pitch coming
Just rears back and fires the FB at 99, misses way up and in, but Julks chases, K, 1 down.

It would be nice if a couple of these guys could get through the sixth or *gasp* seventh inning once in a while. |

Good change waist high, outside corner, swung on and missed, 0-1
Gets under a slider misses way up and away, 1-1
Same pitch, even worse, more up and away, 2-1
Slider thigh high middle, swung over, 2-2
Slider starts outside breaks into the zone, outer 3rd above the waist, Baldwin misses it for the K, 2 down.

Bad slider down the middle, big swing, Lopez fouls it almost straight back
FB misses high, outer half, Lopez tries to check, can't, 0-2
Yanks the slider well down and easy, making an easy take for Lopez, 1-2
Change tails well outside, Lopez checks in time, 2-2
Slider waist high, dives on his hands, jams him, popped foul halfway between the plate and Yankees dugout, Wells catches, inning over.
That's more like it, 1-2-3 for Gil on 16 pitches, and 50 through 2.
Top 3, 2-1 White Sox.
Stanton, Wells and Torres for the Yanks in the 2nd.

Stanton takes a slider near middle for a strike, 0-1
Takes a change at the very bottom near the corner away, 0-2
Flies open, misses way up and away with a FB, 1-2
Big slode curve, misses outside, Stanton takes a huge hack, bloops it off the end of the bat, freezes Fletcher, can't get in in time, falls for a very cheap single.

FB outer 3rd above the waist, swung under, 0-1
FB waist high, inside corner, fouled back off the ump, 0-2
Gets a break. FB hits the very bottom, 20% on Gameday, but Lee catches it badly, dragging it to the dirt, blowing the call, 1-2
Curve hangs high, outer half, 2-2
FB at the top in the middle, foul tipped into the mitt for a K, 1 down.

Takes a slider in the zone low/away, 0-1
FB inside, he starts and has to spin away late, ball 1
Hanging slider high, inside middle, 2-1. Was supposed to be outside corner.
Jams himself on a FB inside, perfect DP grounder to Baldwin, who glove flips to Lopez, throw to first is well in time.
Yanks blow a 3rd straight rally. Should have to worry against this team, but I'm starting to worry.
Bottom 3, 2-1 White Sox.
DP holds Bush's pitchcount to 15 in the 3rd, 60 through 3.
Sosa, Benintendi and Vaughn for the White Sox in the 3rd.

Much better slider sweeps just outside thigh high, swung on and missed, 0-2
Gets way under a slider, misses way high, inner 3rd, 1-2
Hanging slider above the inner 3rd, Sosa misses under, high fly to left center, Judge moves over and catches, 1 down.

For me these games against the White Sox are some of the most annoying of the year since YES is backed out and I'm forced to watch the White Sox broadcast which over the years has been brutally bad. At least I'm going to Wednesday's game will only have to listen to two of their broadcasts. Hope you have fun at Wednesday's game! They better win! |
