Breaks the slider over the outer 3rd, thigh high, taken, 0-2
Yanks the change down and in as he stumbles to the left, 1-2
Good change tails just outside, Benintendi out front, taps it to the left of 2nd, Volpe there, throws him out, 2 down.

Vaughn takes a FB up and in at 99, 1-0
FB inside corner at 98, above the waist, fouled off, 1-1
FB at the top of the zone, outer half, 97, taken, 1-2
Slider misses just above the outside corner, 2-2
FB above the zone, inner half, popped foul out of play.
Gets under a FB, misses way high, ball 3. Sigh.
Hanging slider gets to the zone up and in, spoiled.
And what was a shaort inning is no longer.
Slider on the corner away, big swing, flare off the end of the bat, Verdugo races over, dives, can't get it, two out single
And now it's a long inning for Gil.

Especially with Nestor tomorrow and mystery AAA pitcher on Wednesday. Ugh. Hopefully the fact it's "only" the White Sox helps. It would be nice if a couple of these guys could get through the sixth or *gasp* seventh inning once in a while. That's becoming as rare as hens teeth. Need someone to give the bullpen a break. And give us a break from this bullpen |

Takes a FB in the middle, above the knees, 0-1 on Sheets.
FB high and inside, off Wells' mitt back to the screen, PB moves Vaughn to 2nd.
FB near the corner away, waist high, swung on and missed, 1-2
FB inside middle, fouled off. 20 pitches this inning, 70 so far.

Slider down and in, swung over for the K, inning finally over.
As bad as scareless inning gets in this situation, 22 pitches in the 3rd, and 72 through 3. If he gets through 5, it'll be just barely.
Top 4, 2-1 White Sox.
Volpe, LeMahieu and back to the top for Verdugo for the Yanks in the 4th.
