Not sure if this is the right thread to post this or not, if it isn't please forgive me.
There has been different opinions on some of the worst Yankees trades.
Not many people can say that they were MLB players, so with all due respect for Mr. Vick. The Yankees trading future Hall of Famer Dazzy Vance to the Brooklyn Dodgers for Sammy Vick is another bad Yankee trade. Before being traded to the Reds, Vance played 12 years for the Brooklyn Dodgers and pitched 213 complete games.

In 1982, the Yankee included young minor leaguer, Fred McGriff in a trade with the Blue Jays for reliever Dale Murray. Just one of the many bad trades the team made in the 80's. The above mentioned McGee for Sykes being another.

Mike Lowell for Ed Yarnall and two guys who never made it to the majors. I hated that trade when it was made, one of the few times I had it right so I have to mention it.
Also Roger Maris for Charlie Smith was dowright insulting. But I was happy for Roger that it worked out so well for him, so that took away some of the sting.

I saw Ed Yarnall's first (of three) major league starts and his lone victory on September 5 1999 in Anaheim. I remember thinking he looked promising. Which he did for that day.

Stan Bahnsen for Rich McKinney or Jay Buehner for Ken Phelps I forgot about Bahnsen for McKinney. Bahnsen won 21 games his first year in Chicago while McKinney never did squat. After Clete Boyer was traded following the 1966 season the Yankees never had a legitimate third baseman until they got Nettles in 1973. No wonder he was greeted as a hero after the succession of Charlie Smith and Bobby Cox and Jerry Kenney and Celerino Sanchez and McKinney and whoever else they stuck out there.
