Yeah, but the Royals wouldn't. Witt is their new George Brett and he's signed long term. He's hitting .349? I didn't realize he was that far ahead of Judge. But, yeah; Witt looks like a franchise player for sure. No chance they'd even consider moving him. He has 3 hits tonight so he's up to .352.

Okay, sports fans, in the strange trade vein of our old friend Karl from Pinstripes Plus: Anthony Volpe and Luis Gil for Bobby Witt, Jr.? What say you? Not a close or difficult question. Aside from the fact that pitchers are inherently much more unstable than hitters, much more prone to season-ending and career threatening arm injuries, the simple fact is that Witt is straightaway much more valuable. Right now, he's basically a young A-Rod, minus (presumably) the PEDs, and signed to a very long-term mostly team-friendly deal, assuming he can stay healthy. bWAR tells you everything you need to know: 7.9 for Witt, 3.0 for Gil.

Game 2 is tomorrow afternoon at 1:10 pm on YES.
Carlos Rodon looks for his 5th straight good start and win, he's 13-7 on the season with a 4.18 ERA. Keider Montero (3-5, 5.76 ERA) starts for Detroit: he's 2-3 in his last 6 starts but with just one good game. His ERA is nearly 6.50 in the 6 games.
Game preview done, I'll check notifications now.

Statcast says 3 parks: Fenway, Wrigley and Minute Maid. Not in Philly? Statcast says no. Believe it or don't.

Peraza gets a 1st pitch down the middle, a hanging slider, and belts it out to left, solo HR makes it 2-0. 1st major league HR in I don't know how long for Peraza. I'll check. He has still never hit a fastball for a home run. Always hangers, which is better than fouling it back, but it is odd that most professional baseball players between AAA and the majors wash out because they have trouble with breaking balls. And usually get to the majors by hitting fastballs, rather than breaking balls. But it's only 4 MLB home runs, to small a number to make a definitve judgement about.

I must admit, i don't quite get the point of this one, kay. Its Lee Harvey Oswald as in Oswald Peraza.
Give me a better idea and I'll make it!
Ah, of course. I don't have a better idea. Though someone brought up Oswald the Lucky Rabbitt later in the thread. That might be better than an assassination photo.

Statcast says no. Believe it or don't. Yeah, Statcast is more accurate than my eyeballs, but Detroit is a deep park and that one did go to the fence.

Yeah, that works, kay. Much more...I don't know...in sync with a baseball game thread, much less jarring.
