Ah, of course. I don't have a better idea. Though someone brought up Oswald the Lucky Rabbitt later in the thread. That might be better than an assassination photo. I already made it!
I have to confess, I was hoping for Oswald Patton, eating from a bowl on the floor in a KFC… 👀

I actually thought your original one was hilarious because sick humor doesn't faze me. But if it bothers people it's certainly not a hill to die on either. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln.....

Weird, it sure doesn't feel like we have the best record in baseball but it shows that offenses are down and we are not as bad as it looks/feels. We still have a chance at a chip this year, wow.

Yankees cooling off their own hot hitter by having Wells not play for 2 days. They'd have to sit Wells either tonight or tomorrow afternoon, so they're doing it when the Tigers are opening with a righty reliever but might be going to a lefty follower by the time Trevin's spot in the order comes up, rather than have Trevino start against righty Keider Montero tomorrow afteroon. Wells gets to start against a righty, and can pinch hit later on tonight if need be. It's also a good chance to get the rookie catcher two days off in a row; he's been playing a lot lately with Narvaez as the backup. exactly. wells had been carrying the load having started 5 straight games. the supposed matchups indicated that it was the best way to get trevy back in there and it turned out he had a really good game w a double, stolen base and threw out a runner. cole was effusive in his praise in his post-game (actually all 3 - calling it a blessing). boone & judge chimed in as well.
think wells will be fine. he had already started hitting about a month before trevino went down. he understands the situation. my sense going forward, is they'll go to the 50-50 split maybe weighted slightly towards wells since he does provide better protection for judge against RH pitching. at then end of the day, it takes all 26 guys.

We still have a chance at a chip this year, wow. yes despite folks constantly running the team down, by some strange quirk, we have the best record in baseball. there's 5 teams bunched the top with another 4 nipping at theirs heels. clearly the other teams have imperfections as well as some sort of parity has been reached. don't know how we'll finish, but we certainly are in the mix. should be a knock down drag out the rest of the way.

Austin Wells is the 3rd best hitter on the Yankees. You can's take his bat out of the lineup for half the games. Boone needs to figure out how. I've suggested 1st base where the improved offense would compensate for any defensive limitations he might have. If not, try LF and when needed, DH. At the end of the day the Yankees have to protect Aaron Judge and Wells is the guy who has done it this year.

I was hoping that the Yankees would get Rice some playing time at Catcher to give them the flexibility to DH Wells to keep his bat in the lineup on days that he is not catching They could still do that ... however Rice would be thrown into Catcher Ice cold if Trevino went down and Wells was at DH

agree boone does need figure out a way to keep wells in there as much as possible. maybe similar to what dusty baker did w yainer diaz & martin maldonado in 2023. dusty baker stuck by maldonado who's nowhere the offensive player trevino is. maybe some of judge's DH days are gonna go well's way. 1B may be risky but perhaps during BP he gets some work there. to break him in. also on the days when wells could potentially sit against LH pitching, stanton fwiw will back judge up.
