McKinstry... Sinker well outside, ball 1 Cutter misses down and in, 2-0 Sinker outside middle, taken, 2-1 Curve misses well low in the middle, lays off, 3-1 Cutter on the corner away, above the waist, taken, 3-2 Sinker waist high, outside corner, KcKinstry drives it to the gap in left center, Judge backhands but needs a couple of steps to set, and his throw to 2nd is not nearly in time to prevent the leadoff double.

Vierling tries to bunt, bunts it too closely to Leiter, he immediately wheels to throw to Cabrera they trap McKinstry, and Cabera does it right, runs him back, bluffs the throw and tags him. Vierling doesn't get to 2nd on the play that was well done by Oswaldo.

Ibanez gets a sinker on the corner inside, ties him up just enough so that his fliner to right center is an easy play for Judge, Vierling holds, 2 down.

Malloy... Takes a curve inside. Takes a curve that was maybe 1% on the corner inside, called a strike, 1-1 Takes a slider on the outside edge below the waist, 1-2 Chases a splitter well low for the K, inning over. Leiter gets a scoreless inning, thanks to good defense after the leadoff double.
Top 8,, 4-0 Tigers. Rice, Cabrera and back to the top for Torres for the Yanks in the 8th.

Holton still in there for the 8th. LeMahieu pinch hits for Rice. Takes a cutter outside, 1-0 FB on the corner inside, fouled, 1-1 DJ gets a break, cutter his the bottom of the zone, not called, 20% on Gameday. Again, the Yankee hitter doesn't take advantage of the break. Change low is tapped down 3rd, swinging bunt, but Holton falls that way, gets it in a hurry, wheels and fires a strike to 1st, 1 down.

Not sure why Gleyber swung at that? Just a give up at bat.

Soto check on a slider bounced outside, 1-0. Takes a sinker inside, 2-0 Sinker a bit out of the zone up and in, Soto chases, and fouls it back and out of play, 2-1 Sinker in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, but he pulls it foul off 1st, 2-2 Sinker into the zone up and away, Soto fouls it back. Sinker inner 3rd, above the waist, he's jammed a bit, so his fliner to left of center doesn't carry, goes right to where Meadows is positioned, inning over.
Bottom 8, 4-0 Tigers. 4-5-6 for the Tigers in their half of the 8th inning: Keith, Dingler and Torkelson.

Not sure why Gleyber swung at that? Just a give up at bat. Down in the count 0-1 and didn't want to spot Holton an 0-2 count? I dunno. Gameday says the 0-1 change was 100% strike low in the zone.
