Perhaps, it wasn't entirely Grisham's fault last night. I'm usually not one to point fingers, but Rojas has made a few bad calls this year.

I didn’t post last night, but after the Guardians went up 3-2, I thought it was going to end badly…

3B coach is a tough job...need to make split second, very consequential decisions. Often damned if you do, damned if you don't. But that decision must be made, and stuck to.

Perhaps, it wasn't entirely Grisham's fault last night. Thanks for the post. I had questions about the baserunning last night. To me it looked like Grisham did not pick up Rojas till he got near 3rd. It never occurred to me that Rojas couldn't make up his mind.

Don't worry, guys. We've been told on here that everyone else in the AL sucks too. We'll just have to go through three of them in the Playoffs lol.

just another disgusting loss where we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. coulda shoulda won that game a couple times. pathetic situational hitting. volpe who actually had a good game on 3rd no outs and doesn't score. the 8th where grisham gets thrown out at the plate on what was apparently rojas sending mixed signals. 1st & 3rd one out in the 10th and the 11th.
DJ was a big fail in 3 of those. other than the walk off the other day, continues to struggle big time. unfortunately rice hasn't been much better. overall would prefer to see more cabrera in the mix. brings energy. he has played some 1B. of course at 3B and even replacing verdugo who's been terrible as well.
of course now we have to worry about gil. have the innings caught up to him? not sharp at all. other than that, great job by the bullpen. cousins very impressive and even holmes was good K'ing the side. get the mayza thing. was brought here to be another lefty in the pen and he does have better L/R splits than tonkin but never want see a guy w an 8 ERA in a close game.
in addition to volpe, positives include judge. but he can't do it by himself.

Some will just refuse to see this team for what it is. As they stand now they’re a .500 team. The offense stinks, the pitching is erratic, the bullpen stinks and the bench is laughable. Lead by two guys Cashman and Boone who need to be fired when this disaster comes crashing down.

Aaron Boone on what he still sees in DJ LeMahieu: "He obviously got a big hit in the Williamsport game for us. He's shown some flashes of that. It's been tough. It's been rough. No question about it...I know he's working his tail off...At this point, we have to keep grinding with him."

And some plain goofy defense, mostly by DJLM… Some plain awful offense too. There are only three guys I'd fear on this team if they came after me with a baseball bat. The rest might swing...but they'd either miss or just tap me. And that isn't good enough to win.

I'm starting to wonder how well DJ's seeing the ball. He jumps back on almost any inside pitch. I don't recall him doing that in the past.

Yep...and I'm starting to come around to "pat's" suggestion to eventually convert him to 1B, but since he's never really played there now is probably not the time. I know he's put a lot of work in to improve at catcher, and the results have been positive, but moving forward the need is at 1B.

That’s like saying well this guy is shooting 15% on the year but he hit a three two games ago.
