Rocchio...
Swings over a change well below the knees, outer half, 0-1. Trying to put that one in the Porch on that swing.
FB inside corner below the waist, taken, 0-2
Good change dives just low/away, but he spoils it off 1st.
Change on the corner away, again rolled over to DJ, but he has to go well off 1st to field, they get the force at 2nd, Volpe again sees he has no change to double up the batter, so he feints the throw and again looks at 3rd, and again, no dice.
1st and 3rd, two down for Kwan. Ramirez looms on deck for when Kwan walks again. Maybe.

The new wuss rules in baseball make it harder for catchers. They can't block the plate but the runner can wear that oversized oven mitt that clearly helps them on play like that last one.

FB high on the outer 3rd, taken, 2-0
Change on the corner away, 2-1
Kwan loves to go to left with pitches away from him, and that's all he's seeing so far.
FB misses up and slightly outside, ball 3
FB overthrown high, ball 4. Rocchio was running, but it's moot on the walk.
And Gil is completely trapped, Ramirez up with the bases loaded, 2 down, and still angry on the check swing call when he got hit with a pitch in the 1st.

Takes a change thigh high in the middle, 0-1 on Ramirez.
Slider well inside, 1-1
Slider inside, Ramirez thinks it's a FB swings early and over it, 1-2
Another slider inner 3rd waist high, TERRIBLE location, but Ramirez starts early again, thinking it's the FB and misses it clean for the K.
Phew.
Bottom 2, 2-1 Yanks, but Gil used a lot of pitches again, 25 in the 2nd, 47 through 2, and he's not getting through 5 at that rate.
Trevino, Volpe and LeMahieu for the Yanks in the 2nd.

Trevino takes a Fb at the top in the middle, 0-1
Takes a change that got a piece of the zone at the knees, near the corner away,not called, marginal, 10-15% on Gameday.
Takea a FB above the outside corner, 2-1
Takes a chagne low in the middle, 3-1.
Humps up on the FB again, flies open a bit, misses outside at 94, ball 4. Leadoff walk for Trevino.

I would tell Volpe to bunt here, but it's DJ on deck.
He bunts anyway, doesn't square off the bat, and pops it foul, out of play.

FB misses well, high, 1-1 on Volpe
Sinker waist high, inside middle, and he just plain doesn't connect, late and under, fouls off the meatball.
Slider well down and in, Volpe tries to golf it, pops it well behind 3rd, and Rocchio, who's the defender the Yanks think Volpe is, but isn't quite, races back to his right and makes a terrific over the shoulder grab, taking away a cheap double from Volpe, 1 down.

Sinker inside corner, jams him a bit, gets the hands in, nice flat swing, lined to left-center for a hit. Trevino to 2nd with 2 down and Torres up.
