Sinker above and inside middle, maybe broke his bat, rolls it to the right side of 2nd, Volpe moves left from his shifted position behind the bag, fields and throws him out, inning over.

Mayza needed 15 pitches to get through the 8th. Leave him out there? He threw 12 last night to blow that game...

Send Mayza out there for the 9th, but have somebody warmed up. Get as many outs as you can out of him then DFA him immediately after the final out.

Slider misses low/away, Volpe goes with it, grounds it up the first base line, hits the bag, Naylor way off has no play, hustles to 2nd for a leadoff double.

Verdugo takes a 93 FB way high. I knew Morgan's FB was higher than 88.
FB right down the middle, misses late and under, fouls it off. What a meatball you just missed, Alex.
Slider inside, chased and fouled, 1-2
Change bounced inside, good block, 2-2

Chases a slider going outside, abovfe the knees, 0-2
FB buzzes the tower a bit, Peraza leans back, 1-2
Slider away, rolled over to Freeman at 3rd, he throws him out, Peraza running all out, but beaten by a step, 2 down.

Boy, I'm glad the Yanks are up by 7, or I'd be doing a lot of %*^%%((^ and )*&%$$)_)( over "that situational hitting".

1st pitch slider above middle, hit somewhat sharply toward the 56 hole, but Volpe goes back on the grass, fields, throws a one-hopper that bounces true to Rice, he catches, game over. Yanks win, 8-1, to take 1st back from the O's.
