Judge's 48th HR: 104.6 mph, 360 feet, 32° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 parks. Take that, Smotzie!! Did statcast say the one stadium that held that Judge HR? It says Coors, but with that park, Statcast doesn't seem to account for the extra 5-10% flyball carry at altitude. I think. |

Takes a FB on the outside corner, waist high, 1-1
Takes a slider well low and outsidee, 2-1
Cutter inner 3rd, ties him up a bit, sky high pop near home, Hedges moves to his left, then has to lunge back toward the foul line to make the backhanded catch, 1 down.

Swings over a 1st pitch change diving low, 0-1
FB inside, Wells checks but not in time, 3rd base ump calls "swing", 0-2
And the side view shows the bat going past home, so OK.
Change tailing to the corner away, hit hard to medium deep right center, but Freeman goes back, hauls it in, 2 down.

Takes a cutter waist high, outside corner, 0-1
Gets a slider above and outside middle middle, fouls it off, 0-2
A cutter inside middle ties him up just enough, his high fly to medium deep left center is backhanded by Freeman on the move, but not running all-out, inning over.
Easy 1-2-3 for Gillispie in the 7th, just 10 pitches and 35 total for his 2 innings.
Top 8, 5-0 Yanks. Hill staying in, apparently. He threw 15 in the 7th.
Top of the order for Cleveland, Brennan and Ramirez, in the 8th.

Takes a sinker down and in, 2-0
Sinker clips the top of the zone, not called, 10-20% on Gameday, 3-0
Sinker waist high, inside corner, taken 3-1
Sinker in the zone a bit up and in, pulled toward the 34 hole, but Torres is there, scoops it up to his left, wheels around, throws him out, 1 down.
And with a righty Lane Thomas announced to PH for the lefty Brennan, Boone takes out Hill, goes to Weaver.

Cutter misses 2-3 inches outside, taken, but it's called a strike. Bad call, 0% on Gameday, 1-2.
Change dives toward the low outside corner, but misses, taken, 2-2.
Change dives to the knees in the middle, Thomas swings over, 2 down, bases empty, up by 5, a GOOD spot to be facing Ramirez, hopefully for the last time in the series.

Cutter breaks 4-5 inches inside, taken, 2-1.
I've heard or read "speedball" for fastball a number of time before Springsteen's 'Glory Days' use of it. It didn't throw me that much. It's possible that there's a sinister double entendre in it in the song, but I doubt it.
FB up and in, taken, 3-1
Change misses low, ball 4. Man on 1st, 2 down for Naylor.

Another change a few inches lower, but he drops the top hand to get a piece and foul it.
