I don't understand why anybody would even pitch to Judge. I mean I'm glad they do, but seems like a losing proposition.

Cutter well outside, waist high, 3-2 on Stanton. FB up and in, for the 3rd time a check swing hits the bat goes foul, but at least this one was a strike anyway on the corner. Curve on the inside corner, has a chance at that one, but fouls it off, late. Curve well low near middle, lays off. Considering how overmatched he is on the FB 97-99 inside, that's a GREAT 9-ppitch walk for Stanton. Pitching coach Willis out to give Williams a breather.

Let me tell you something...this pitcher the Yankees are facing today is one TOUGH POWER PITCHER...Only Judge could've hit that bomb off him today, and he's throwing so hard that even Judge's timing had to be just perfect to hit the ball fair...anyone else, and it would've been just another deep foul ball. The HR was on a 92 changeup, coco, but your overall point is still valid. When Williams gains command of his stuff, he's going to be a beast.

Stanton did a hell of a job working the pitcher for that walk...when they pull him later...let's remember who the unsung hero was for that!

Whoops didn't realize today's was a day game. Unfortunately, have some work to do. May catch the final few innings. Go Yankees!

Buzzes the tower on Volpe, he has to lean back and backpeddle quick to get out of the way, ball 1. FB inside by 5-6 inches, 2-0 Steps off, bluffs Wells back to 2nd. Cutter thigh high near middle, but Volpe misses under it, fouls it back. Sigh. Good pitch to hit, but he didn't. Comes back with a hittable FB to the same spot, below and inside middle, he takes a huge HR cut and misses late and under, 2-2. Sigh. FB at the top spoiled back. Curve bounced outside, Volpe starts and barely checks in time. Not sure he did, but they don't show a side/top view. Comes back with a FB well high, Volpe lays off, ball 4. Cabrera up, bases loaded, 2 down.

Tries to jump a cutter down and in, and he's right on it, pulleg it hard, but well foul, trying to speed the bat up for the FB. Curve backs way outside, 1-1. A BB here is a GREAT result, OCab.

But he doesn't allow it, chases a 98 FB 3 inches high, inner 3rd, pops it near the mound, Rocchio comes down from short, catches, inning over. Two more big RISP fails, and the Yanks get 1 on the Judge Porcher, don't take advantage of the two BBs.
Top 5, 1-0 Yanks. 29 pitches for Williams in the 4th, 74 through 4. Freeman, Rocchio and back to the top for Kwan for the Guardians in the 5h.

Judge's 48th HR: 104.6 mph, 360 feet, 32° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 parks. Take that, Smotzie!!
