August 29th! I have it marked down to wish you happy birthday this year! So he's ahead of pace of that year date wise. Speaking of Judge I just won his jersey in a claw machine on the wildwood boardwalk on the first $2 try literally 2 mins after I posted that post lol. I'm legit shocked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hahahahah, thats awesome Anthony! Good for you! Claw machine expert!

Stars of the game...HM to the three relievers, who each pitched a scoreless inning with a 3 run lead. Otherwise, the 3 starts are obvious...
3rd star of the game: Judge for his 49th HR, and 8th in the last 10 games. There are hot streaks, and then their are hot seasons. Judge's season since the awful April beggar description. Starting from April 27th: 100 games exactly, 133-352, 24 doubles, 1 triple, 45 HR, 93 runs scored, 106 RBI, 84 BB, 100 K, 5 SB, 0 CS, .378/.503/.838/1.341. You have to go back to the best Babe Ruth seasons, 1920-1924, to see hitting so extradoniary in all three categories (not counting PED users).
2nd star of the game: Stanton, for the solo HR in the 4th that gave the Yanks and Rodon a run to work with. Maybe he's heating up? We'll soon see.
1st star of the game: Rodon...had a couple of long innings to battle through, but did what a good pitcher does with a poor lineup, shutting them out for 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 BB, with 5 K's. Moved back into a tie for the league lead in wins with 14, and lowered his ERA to 4.16. Good job coming back off the bad one in Detroit last Saturday.

Game 2 is tomorrow after the Old Timers' Day Festivities, on YES sometime between 2:07 and 2:20 pm most likely. Some dispute about who's starting for the Yanks. The original plan was for Stroman to pitch in proper turn, and that's what's still listed at OnRoto and, but both Fangraphs and MLB.com show the Yanks have switched from the original intention to start Stroman, pushing him back to Sunday. Instead, they'll match rookie against rookie. (Confirmed by Chris Kirschner of The Athletic)
The Rockies start Bradley Blalock, his 4th major league game, and 3rd career major league start. He's 0-1 in his first two starts, with 2.92 ERA. He had a so-so start against the D'backs and good start in a no-decision against the Cubs. The Yanks will go with Will Warren for his 4th major league start. He was so-so against the Phillies, got hammered by the Angels, and did OK against a very bad White Sox team. Warren is 0-1 with an 8.59 ERA so far for the Yanks.
Game preview done, I'll check notifications.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm looking forward to Schmidt's return, the Yanks NEED him. And good evening, pres. Would the Yankees move Luis Gil to the bullpen to save his innings and to bolster the end of the bullpen? Maybe, but his command issues means they can't use in him in high leverage? Long relief, maybe.

As Kay said, 4-1 Astros now: 2 run HR for Altuve, RBI double for Pena, RBI single for Meyers. I think. Too soon to speak for sure, but maybe the Orioles were a tad overestimated. They obviously have a lot of talent, but they aren't going to match last year's win total. Losing five starting pitchers hasn't helped either. And two hours or so later, your fear is proven true. It was too soon to bury the O's.

Sorry I missed this one but I was at a Deep Purple concert with YES opening up. Yes, "old man" concert as my kids called it, but 3/5 of the Deep Purple "Machine Head" lineup are still together and they can still play and they're still loud as ever. During the show, my son texted me "#49" and I knew exactly what he meant. Great to see another well pitched game, the Yanks needed that with Warren going today.

They only played 70's YES because no one from the 80's lineup are in the band anymore.

As long as Ian Gillan is lead vocalist and you have Roger Glover up there with Ian Paice on drums -- the only one who's been with the band since it started -- it's recognizably Deep Purple. I was in Montreux a few years ago and stayed in the hotel Deep Purple stayed in back in the 70s when they wrote "Smoke On The Water" about the fire they could see from the hotel. My only brush with Deep Purple immortality.
