had to leave top of 3rd for the saturday concert on the mountain. things hadn't gone off the trax yet. the meltdown quickly followed. warren looks like he has "good stuff" but way too many mistakes. put us in a hole we couldn't climb out of. game was all about jake cave trying to show we made a mistake.
another anemic offensive performance and no judge or soto HRs to bail us out. think we've had 16 hits over the last 3 games. that's not gonna get it done. positives were verdugo's 1st HR in forever. maybe it gets him going? two hits for jazz. stellar bullpen work from hill and kahnle. hopefully we can win the series tomorrow.

The Yankees had traded OF Jake Cave to the Twins for a minor league pitcher named Louis Gill, some mistake. Cave had been a Rule 5 Draft pick by the Reds from the Yankees, who had returned him to the Yankees during MLB spring training camp

Congrats to Trent Grisham on his golden sombrero! He now stands at .185 as his quest for a third straight sub-Mendoza season chugs on. Good luck, Trent! Cashman likes collecting sub .200 hitters. This guy makes Hicks look like a good hitter. Funny you mentioned Hicks. Cashman and the Yanks are paying him and Grisham combined over 14 million for this season. Great production.

Is Hicks even in MLB anymore? He should concentrate on golf. He can get tips from his wife--former Wake Forest and LPGA golfer Cheyenne Woods. Tiger's niece.

Lifelong dyed-in-the-wool Yankee fan, but as a season ticket holder from Day One in '93 thru 2001, still a small soft place in my heart for the Rox. Nice azbob! What was your favorite Colorado Rockies memory? Opening Day 4-9-93 / Attendance - 80,000 / Perfect Weather / Eric Young led off bottom of 1st with what looked like a routine fly ball to CF - HR - Game On!!

after HRs in 2 consecutive games, stanton surprisingly sits. maybe it's because it's a RH pitcher or he's played 4 in a row and they're still "babying" him. guess they weigh giving a judge a day off in the field more than having G's bat in the lineup. with warren pitching, i'd want as much offense as i can get. the bottom 3 in the lineup is rather weak so having said that, they'll prove me wrong. but it is good the have jazz back out there. It doesn't make any sense. When does Verdugo get a day off? I know how this sounds, and I could be wrong... But if Verdugo doesn't start hitting I think the Yankees might eventually designate him for assignment if they feel that they are better team with switch hitting Dominguez in their everyday lineup.

But if Verdugo doesn't start hitting I think the Yankees might eventually designate him for assignment if they feel that they are better team with switch hitting Dominguez in their everyday lineup. There were multiple stories this spring that Verdugo was one of the guys that #99 wanted the Yankees to acquire. Given the balance on this team, I think the Yankees are holding on to him for the season and then allowing him to leave gracefully. If the FO really feels that Dominguez is ready for the bright lights, I think Grisham is the guy who leaves.
