Same pitch a bit higher, Judge takes it for strike 2.
Slider finishes just outside, taken, 1-2
FB up and in buzzes the tower, Judge leans back, 2-2. Crowd boos.
Judge takes his timeout, resets.
Sinker inside ties up Judge, jam job grounder to 3rd, McMahon gets it to Rodgers, who turns it quickly, the call is out at 1st for a DP, but I thought he was safe at 1st look. Yanks challenging the call at 1st and it should be overturned, he's safe on the replay.

Wells goes after a 1st pitch FB that tails 3-4 inches outside, waist high, fouls it back. 0-1
Same pitch a big higher at 96, Wells chases and misses that one, 0-2
Takes his timeout.
Curve well inside, taken, 1-2
Bounces the splitter, Wells lays off, 2-2
Splitter starts over the plate tails 2-3 inches outside knee-high, Wells goes for it, fouls it.
Splitter winds up waist high, and Wells tries to belt it, misses under, pops foul off 3rd. McMahon moves near the stands, catches, 2 down. Yanks need to get that run back here, but Chisholm looked rusty last night.

Chisholm swings over a splitter going low in the middle, 0-1
ARGGGGG. FB just outside right down the middle, but he missed it, fouled it back, 0-2.
Big breaking curve dives down and bounces over home, chased and missed for the K, inning over.
Top 2, 1-0 Rockies, bad RISP fail in the 1st, letting the rookie get settled.
20 pitches in the 1st for Blalock.
Toglia, Cave and Jones for the Rockies in the 2nd.

after HRs in 2 consecutive games, stanton surprisingly sits. maybe it's because it's a RH pitcher or he's played 4 in a row and they're still "babying" him. guess they weigh giving a judge a day off in the field more than having G's bat in the lineup. with warren pitching, i'd want as much offense as i can get. the bottom 3 in the lineup is rather weak so having said that, they'll prove me wrong. but it is good the have jazz back out there. It doesn't make any sense. When does Verdugo get a day off? when jasson gets here ... they're not gonna run stanton out there. then your choice is verdugo & grisham - pick your poison. |

Slider for the backdoor stays outside ball 4.
There's something about Warren's motion that's too easy to read. They're recognizing his offspeed going low too early and too easily, not even flinching.

FB just inside, thigh-high, lined to the corner in right, one hops to the wall, a double for Cave moving Toglia to 3rd with nobody out.

Come on Warren. That was a meatball. It was actually off the plate, but the wrong location mistake to the wrong hitter. He missed the change low away, had to try that again at some point, never got to it. |

FB misses well up and away, 2-2, Wells throws down to 3rd, but Toglia gets back.
Fb misses inside 2-3 inches, ball 3.
Aside from everything else, Warren can't finish hitters quickly.
Change drops low outside middle, but Jones lifts it deep enough to left center, so Grisham doesn't even go home, throws it in to Volpe to hold Care at 2nd with 1 down. Toglia scores, 2-0 Rockies.

Good prospect, but 0-11 in the majors so far.
Takes a slider near middle, 0-1.
Swings over the change diving well low, 0-2.
