OK, it's the first base umpire Hudson who goes to home plate, not the 3rd base ump Wendlestedt who was behind the plate yesterday.

Need at least a run from Chisholm here. Can't take a K or GIDP.

Chisholm steps in, game back underway. Chisholm guesses Gomber will lay one in. Gomber guesses he'll be jumping on the 1st pitch, throws a curve way low/away, 0-1 Same pitch, takes it, 1-1.

Big slow curve starts behind him, freezing him as it hits the inside corner, 1-2 Big slow curve winds up in a hittable spot, waist high, inner half, but he misses it for the K.

Come on Jazz, swinging at that first pitch way out of the strike zone set the whole tone for that AB.

Volpe gets a curve in a crushable spot, below and inside middle, and feebly rolls over on it to Tovar, throws him out, Yanks blow a huge opportunity to break it open again. And it's biting the nails down to the beds time the rest of the way.
Top 6, 4-3 Yanks. All that and Gomber threw just 17 pitches in the 5th, and is at 75 through 3.
Toglia, Cave and Jones for the Rockies in the 6th, and Kahnle is coming in.

Definitely not comfortable with a one run lead.

Toglia swings over a change above the knees in the middle, 0-1 Takes one in the middle dropping way low, 1-1 Change dives well outside, knee high., 2-1 Change tails outside, he chases and fouls it down, 2-2 More or less the same change as the first pitch, a bit higher, again swung over, K, 1 down.

Bad change winds up above middle, Cave takes, 0-1 FB misses just high, Cave checks in time, 1-1 Change dives outside, Cave chases, hits it off the end of the bat toward the 56 hole, Chisholm cuts it off, throws him out, 2 down.

Jones steps in, takes his timeout inmediately. Takes a FB at 95, waist high, near the corner away, but in the zone, 0-1 Change dives low/away in the zone, grounded shoftly down first, DJ can't get there until the last bounce which was foul, 0-2. Change away again, nubbed off the end of the bat, 7-hopper to the right of 2nd, Volpe comes in, fields and throws a strike to DJ, inning over.
Darn near perfect 1-2-3 for Kahnle in the 6th, just 11 pitches.
Bottom 6, 4-3 Yanks. Bottom of the order for the Yanks in the 6th: Trevino, Verdugo and LeMahieu.

Definitely not comfortable with a one run lead. You're far from alone in that thought, 636.

Trevino... Takes a change above middle, 0-1 Gets a break, chaange at the knees is 50-50, but not called, should be 0-2, but it's 1-1. FB at the top in the middle, fouled off, 1-2 Fb at the top, just inside middle, fouled off. Big slow curve misses just low, ball 2. Back to the FB, slowed the bat with the curve, and he can't catch up, chases the ball above the zone for the K. 1 down.
