FB at the high outside corner, slaps it to left for a single. Good job, fighting back in the count and going with the pitch by Verdugo there.

Torres takes a FB on the inside corner.
Guesses FB down, gets the splitter than bounces, swings early and over, 0-2
Big arm action splitter, fades outside, Torres well out front, K, inning over.
That "splitter" looks more like a change, but that's the way it's coded on Gameday, Savant and YES. I dunno. Doesn't drop sharp like most splitters. (See Gausman when he's on for comparison).
Bottom 4, 2-0 Yanks.
23 pitches for Parker in the 4th, 83 through 4.
Crews, Wood and Chaparro for the Nats in the 4th, a tough crew for Nestor to face.

That was one of verdugo's better at bats in a while. It's good for him to run into the wall now and then. actually i've wondered if all those crashes into wall is part of his problem like clint frazier |

Same cutter, same miss, same take, ball 4. Leadoff walk. Not great.

Waist high cutter away, tapped to the left side, Chisholm fields way over toward 2nd, flips to Volpe, and Wood easily beats the relay, 1 down.
