Splitter on the corner, 0-1 Splitter just low, taken, 1-1 DJ pops to Crews in foul ground, tried like heck to get under that to avoid the DP. Yanks are a Gleyber away from getting Soto up with the tying run on 2nd.

At least DJ didn't hit into a double play, but no one expected a hit there.

At least he didn't GIDP, pres. That's something. And a very very very belated good evening.

At least DJ didn't hit into a double play, but no one expected a hit there. And man that's a problem. He's one of the worst players in baseball and signed for two more years.

Torres being VERY patient so far. Gonna take a meatball on 3-1? Nope, good FB outside corner at 97, 3-2.

Don't try to HR here Gleyber or its a popup. Look FB away, drive it to right. He probably won't risk a splitter low and get Soto in there.

I hate letting a game like this get away in the midst of a dead heat division race. Your ace against one of the worst pitchers in the league. You gotta have those.

Geez Yankees only have 9 since this I'd be more interested in comebacks wins after trailing by multiple runs after 4 or 5 innings. Those are real comebacks, wining after your pitcher gives up a run in the top of the first isn't that impressive.

Tries to inside out a FB down and in, flies to Crews in deep right, caught on the edge of the track, game over. Yanks lose, 4-2, fall back to 23 over at 78-55, 29 to play.
Sox look like they'll break both streaks, up 6-2 on the Jays in the 8th. Rays in Seattle in about 20 minutes. O's in LA in about 50 minutes.
The rubber game is tomorrow at 6:45 again on Prime (sigh) Video. Carlos Rodon (14-8, 4.18 ERA) for the Yanks, vs lefty McKenzie Gore (7-11, 4.51) for the Nats.
OK, gonna check notifications, then get back to work.
