we really didn't deserve this one Just imagine if this team had a vocal leader like Jeter to speak up about the lackluster play this last half of season. Seems to be way too much zombie walking.

Just a sloppy game all around. Yankees have improved their series record lately (7-3-1) since ASB they've only swept one team in that the Phillies. Def some wins left on the table. Still like their chances to win this series, but def should have more wins.
2-2 vs Rays T 0-2 vs Mets L 2-1 @ Red Sox W 3-0 @ Phillies W 2-1 vs Tor W 1-2 vs LAA L 2-1 vs TEX W 2-1 @ CWS W 1-2 @ DET L 2-1 vs CLE W 2-1 vs COL W
19-14 record (.575)

Geez Yankees only have 9 since this I'd be more interested in comebacks wins after trailing by multiple runs after 4 or 5 innings. Those are real comebacks, wining after your pitcher gives up a run in the top of the first isn't that impressive. Good point. They do have a lot of blow out losses (losing by 5 or more) 17 of them. 7 times shut out. Only 2 walkoffs vs 5 walkoff against.

I wish Cashman had showed the same respect and loyalty to Bernie Williams or Jorge Posada as their careers ended that he shows to DJ. Or maybe Cash just doens''t want to admit that he got euchred to the tune of $ 40 M in those negotiations.

He outsmarted himself with that one.

yeah certainly didn't deserve this one. on paper, shoulda been a layup w cole, who came in w 4 straight great starts including the last 2 scoreless against corbin - the worst starter in baseball. of course suzyn, the games aren't played on paper. in typical yankee fashion, a pitcher who we should have had for breakfast shuts us down. corbin clearly the potg.
really no offense no speak of except for a couple late runs. judge hitting into a DP w base loaded none out the turning point. the 6th inning featured some of the shoddiest fielding of the season leading to a run. lucky it wasn't more. jazz w 5 errors in last couple games. however the game was really lost by cole who allowed back-to-backs in the 4th that was the margin of victory
our lead in the east is now 1 1/2 over the O's who play the dodgers later tonight. hopefully LA helps out.

He looked great at 3B before the injury, but gotta wonder if the elbow is effecting that a bit now.

Remember Hideki Matsui ? He was the MVP of the WS and the Yankees let him walk.

What does that have to do with the regular season not mattering? They are literally on record of the get in the playoffs then it's a crapshoot. Boone does rest days when it makes no sense all the time.

DJ was coming off 2 great seasons including a batting title in the covid season. signs the contract then slowed by injuries the next couple seasons and hasn't really gotten it back. agree would have liked fewer years but this was a guy everyone was calling "la machine". despite the years, at the time $15mil/yr seemed like a bargain and it was done that way to lessen the impact on the LT.

Running him out there every day does not make the team better,
