Stroman will start the 7th. Not sure how long he'll stay in.
Cutter above and outside middle, Walker takes it, 0-1
Chases a slow curve well outside at the knees, 0-2
This curve is closer, but still 3-4 inches outside, and Walker is way early, misses it for the K, 1 down.

Well, he was white hot for 4 months. Had to stop some time. Hope he finds it again without having to go through another bad month. Might even need a day off somewhere in here. Yeah, he's been in God Mode forever. Had to cool off a bit at some point. A day off/maintenance day could probably serve him well. He had a day off yesterday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Pages takes that slow curve on the inside corner, thigh high.
Gets away with a bad 89 hanging sinker near middle, fouled off, 0-2
FB about 6-7 inches outside near the top, taken, 1-2
Chases a cutter 8 inches outside waist high, gets a piece to stay alive.
Curve drops just low, spoils that as well. 91 pitches for Stroman.
Hesitation delivery, sinker at the knees outer 3rd, rolled to the 56 hole, Chisholm cuts it off, straightens and throws him out, 2 down.

Starts Scott with the curve as well, all three hitters this inning. Swings over it as it dives low, 0-1
Spiltter outside, no chase, 1-2
Cutter at the top near middle, check swing hits the bat, goes foul 1-2
Lays off the curve bounced near the corner inside, 2-2
Slider down and in out of the zone, gets a small piece to stay alive. 97 pitches now.
Splitter dives straight down middle of the zone, Winds up 4-6 inches low, Scott swings over it for the K, and that's a superb 7 innings for Stroman, who, after 3 innings, I thought would struggle to get through 5. Took advantage of the Cards inexperienced guys chasing him. Goldschmidt knows him too well, had 3 hits off him
Bottom 7, 4-2 Yanks.
15 pitch 1-2-3 for Stroman in the 7th, and he's probably done, so 98 pitches for his night.
Chisholm, Volpe and Rice for the Yanks in their half of the 7th inning.

The hot Tigers have come back from 4-0 down to tie up the Red Sox, they got 3 in the 8th and tied it in the 9th, still bottom 9, 4-4.
Padres pounding the Rays 10-4 in the 6th in the Craptastic Dome™
Jays-Twins 0-0 top 4 in Minnesota.
O's-Rockies 0-0, top 2 in Coors. Surprised the O's don't already have 5 on the board.

Slowed his bat down, so he's late on a crushable sinker thigh high, near middle, fouls it off.
Back to the change, this one outside, bounced foul.
Chases ball 3 outside, a change, half-swing, gets a piece, fouls.

He's swung at 2 obvious balls and missed two crushable sinkers already in this at bat. Sigh.
Slider bounced, taken, 2-2
Change way low is ball 5, but he chases it outside as well, gets a piece.
Sinker 8-10 inches outside is ball 6, and the count finally goes full.

Throw over. Volpe already back at 1st.
Throw over again, and they nearly got him that time, they had him leaning the wrong way, but he barely got back.
Cards going to challenge. I'll have to take a close look.
No, I think the tag on his ribs is late. I think Volpe's hand got back first.
