Volpe starts, King bounces a slider that gets a bit away, Volpe checks up, then goes on the short WP. Shouldn't be a steal, but they give him one. 2-2 on Rice.
Slider almost right down the middle, topped to the left of 2nd, ball behind him, Volpe takes 3rd as Wynn throws out Rice, 2 down.
Yanks clear the pitcher.

Verdugo objects to a strike call, sinker on the outer 3rd, knee high, and normally I'd never back up Bucknor, but he's right and Alex in wrong, 50-50 on Gameday.
Fouls off a sinker near middle, 0-2
Sinker gets 1-2% on the high inside corner, but it doesn't matter, Verdugo swings under again for the K. Inning over, Volpe's shenanigans at bat and on the bases amount to....nothing.
Top 8, 4-2 Yanks. Let's see who comes in for the 8th. Kahnle, I suppose.
He'll face the top of the Cards' order: Wynn, Burleson and Arenado.

Slider misses inside, taken, but Cousins gets a favorable call, missed by an inch or two on Gameday, 0%, 0-1
Slider outside 4-5 inches, taken, 1-1
Bounces a slider outside, 2-1
Sinker drops into the top of the zone in the middle, taken, 2-2
Slider hangs inside, and Wynn tries to turn on it, bounces it foul off 3rd.
Slider misses low/away, taken, 3-2
Need the good slider going more low than away here...

Sinker dives well inside, should be ball 4, but Wynn gives Cousins a break, chases and fouls it back.
Sinker at 96, waist high, inner 3rd, hittable, but he hesitates for a moment thinking it might be a hanging slider, and he's late and under it for the K. 1 down.

Burleson chases a bad slider well down and in, pops it to center, easy play for Judge, 2 down.
That's the problem with a great hit tool, you think you can hit any pitch hard. Not so.

Arenado gets a sinker thigh high in the middle, fouls it off, 0-1
Slider low/away, taken, 1-1
Slider outside and low, taken, 2-1
Sinker backs up and in makes him spin out of there, almost hit him, 3-1
Sinker on the corner away, thigh high, guessed slider by location, took it for strike 2.
Slider low, but not low enough and middle of the plate, Arenado goes down and golfs a 2-iron out to left, almost a liner, solo HR makes it a 4-3 game now.
Boone goes to take out Cousins.
