Wells takes a sinker on the outside corner, 0-1 Takes a slider bouonced inside, good backhand pick by Pages to save a WP, 1-1. BOOM!! He did it again!!! Hanging slider inner half, belted way out to deep right center, 2 run shot gives the Yanks needed insurance, 6-3 Yanks!!!

Boone is right now thinking: "I should rest him tomorrow."

Nor everyone agreed with my thought about putting Wells at 1st. So let me say this: If they can play Jazz at 3rd they can play Wells as SS. I don't care where they play him...they have to keep his bat in the lineup.

Storman really didn't give up any runs claims Kay. Strange logic. [ Because Jazz dropped a foul ball he should have caugh for the final out. It was a tough play because of the fence and the net, plus Stroman gave up two, two hits after that.

Stanton takes a sinker inside at the top, 1-0 Takes a sinker on the edge of the corner inside, 1-1 Takes a fat sinker above middle, sigh, 1-2 Chases a slider diving low and away, predictable after the take on the pitch before, K, inning over.
Yanks add 2 big runs, and lead 6-3, going top 9. Holmes will come in to try to close it out against Goldschmidt, leading off down 3, a good place to pitch to hit, then Nootbaar and Walker.

Can a platoon player win rookie of the year? Willie McCovey won in 1959 with 219 PA…

With a three run lead, Boone could have just brought Tommy back out.

Wells' 12th HR and 2nd of the game: 104.1 mph, 413 feet, 32° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 parks. Have no idea what park that ISN'T a HR in.
