Easy 1-2-3 for Fedde, 13 pitches and 73 through 4.

Burlesson takes a sinker outside middle, 0-1
Takes a slurve inside middle, 0-2
Cutter well high, he tomahawks it into the RF corner for a hit, it one hops the wall right back to Soto, who fires to 2nd, it's not in time, but Burleson comes off the bag with his hand, and Volpe keeps the tag down getting a big out and a big runner off 2nd base, 2 down! Fine play by Soto, and good perserverance by Volpe.

Arenado takes a slurve outside, 1-0
Cutter outside middle waist high, missed under a bit, fly to shortish left, Verdugo comes in, catches, inning over.
1-2-3 for Stroman, again a low count, just 6 pitches and 75 through 5.
Bottom 5, 4-2 Yanks.
Verdugo, then back to the top for Torres and Soto.

Cutter above the outer 3rd, close enough to merit a chase, fouls it.
Good cutter near the top inside corner, swung under, K, 1 down.

Burleson is yet another example of good hit tool, and they find a job for you. Not a great fielder or a fast runner, but they start him in left. He'll be the first baseman next year if they don't re-sign Goldschmidt. |

Cutter into the top of the zone, foul tipped into the mitt, K, 2 down.

Takes a cutter in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, 2-2
Takes a cutter inside near the top, 3-2
Fouls off a slider at the knees, inside middle.
Cutter on the edge of the zone away, topped back to Fedde, throws him out, inning over.
Very easy inning for Fedde, two K's and a tapper back to the box, but he threw 18 pitches for the 1-2-3 and is at 91 through 5.
Top 6, 4-2 Yanks.
Donovan, Goldschmidt and Nootbaar for the Cards in the 6th.

Donovan takes a sinker well outside, ball 1
Jams him with a cutter up and in, pulls it to Rice, and he isn't sure where it went, so it doesn't go to 1st, Rice goes to 1st, 1 down. Follow through hit Wells on the shin guard but he's OK.

Cutter up in the zone, near the corner away, hit back through the middle, beats Volpe on the left side of 2nd and Goldschmidt (.236 coming in) is now 3 for 3 off Stroman and up to .241.
