Verdugo ends the rally with the usual rollover grounder to 2nd.

Verdugo ends the rally as he jogs down the first base.

Verdugo does what he does best at the plate...a rollover to 2B to end the Yankees rally.

Before that at bat, Stanton was 4-45 as a pinch-hitter in his career, just 1 double, no HR and just 4 RBI. Yanks make some defensive changes, and Weaver in to pitch, but Torres stays in the game, and I'm a bit relieved.

Verdugo swings at the first pitch and hits a ground ball. Ugh! Hey, but The Martian hit another home run for Scranton today. He's playing an excellent LF, but he's not hitting. Dominguez should have been promoted weeks ago.

Verdugo does what he does best at the plate...a rollover to 2B to end the Yankees rally. Yeah. The question in a Verdugo AB is whether he'll ground out to first or second. Or strike out, I guess

Herrera pops foul well behind 1st, it's playable, but Rice can't get the right route and it hits the top of the low wall, 0-2. Rolls over on a FB on the corner inside, Chisholm fields and throws him out, 1 down.

The unearned run the Cards got on the Wells throw in the difference in the game right now.

Walker chases a FB above the zone, pops it high to short left center, Verdugo moves over, catches, 2 down.

so the answer to my earlier question, there is really NO SOUND REASON for Dominguez not being on the 26 man roster.

Scott takes a pitch outside, then gets jammed just a bit by a FB on the corner inside, high fly to medium deep right center, caught by Soto moving right and back a bit, inning over.
Bottom 9, Yanks have a tough challenge, they have to beat Helsley, who's saved 41 of 44 this year. Still throws 99-100-101, but uses his slider as much as the FB, also has a slow curve. Cabrera and Torres with his bad hand, but the good news is that Soto must get a least a swing. The bad news, is that he's slumping right now.
