Torres trapped the left hand under him as he slid, and is in some pain on the Yankees bench.
Judge lines a single to left center, Nootbaar cuts it off in the gap, so Judge holds 1st down by 5.

Wells falls behind 1-2, then slaps a fliner to left center that falls in for a hit, Judge holds 2nd.
Chisholm up 1st and 2nd, 2 down, and all a rally here does will be to get Helsley into it.

Chsiholm falls behind 0-1, slaps one up the middle, Winn dives on the OF grass behind 2nd, spears it to his left, has no play, infield hit, bases loaded, two down for Volpe.

Takes a sinker 3-4 inches outside, 2-0
Cutter down the middle tapped down 3rd, swinging bunt, stays fair, Liberatore falls off that way, get on it, tries to flip to Arenado, but he came off to field and wasn't on the bag, infield hit, runs scores, 6-2 Cards, bases loaded, 2 down. Stanton is a terrible pinch-hitter, but Boone sends him up to PH for Grisham.
Marmol will bring in a righty, possibly Kittridge their top setup man.

Stanton is a terrible pinch hitter, but who else do the have? They can bat Rice for Stanton but 1) Rice is in a big slump, and 2) Boone would never insult Stanton that way after asking him to pinch-hit |

Kitteridge has 31 holds.
Stanton jumps on the first pitch and gets it down near the end of the bat, so the deep fly to left center doesn't quite got out of the park, hits high off the wall, rebounds past Scott who got too close, 3-run double makes it a 1-run game!!! 6-5 Cards. Rice in to pinch run for Stanton
