Hey, guys? Bad fielding...eh.
Cards have 17 freaking hits, and this is NOT a good hitting team. Bad pitching almost all day today.

OK, that was Burleson PHing for Baker, which I missed.
Tigers beat the Red Sox, 4-1, staying hot.
Pads lead the Rays 3-2 bottom 6 in Tampa.
Jays and Twins are 1-1 bottom 7 in Minnesota.
O's are up 5-0 in the 5th in Coors; looks like the lead will be 1/2 game after today.

It’s getting to the point where it no longer matters if the Yankees win the division or not. With the horrific defense, ghastly bullpen, mediocre starting pitching and streaky offense I foresee a quick exit out of the playoffs.

I wasn't paying full attention. Are these balls Soto could have caught? No. They were balls Judge could have caught. I’d pay Soto to DH. He’s better in RF than his rep was, but he’s below average. I really think we should let him walk and spread the money around for a longer lineup… I’ll miss watching him hit, but Judge should be back in right…where does that leave Soto? … |

Judge takes a ball low on the outer 3rd, 1-0
Takes a sinker that almost bounced, inner half, 2-0
Takes a sinker in the zone low/away, 2-1
Swings over a sinker going low, 2-2
Misses a slider down and in just inside, K, 1 down.

It'll take an historic collapse to miss the playoffs. But even if they get there, the way this team is constructed the chances of going anywhere are pretty much slim & none. |
